Let me start by saying that I am not forcing anyone to use this method, it will be your choice whether you choose to use this to leech or host but then again one that hosts using a .dlc must force the leechers to download this way. I am using this has a trial in my discography threads to see if it helps to reduce the number of dead links because some fags are reporting them. This is not the first time that this happened in PA and I am sure that this has happened to others here or elsewhere plus 95% of the time, links die because some schmucks are reporting them. So me using this is all experimental for now.

    ==================================================

    Introduction

A .dlc file is a link container that contain encrypted linklists and can store many links in one file. Since it's encrypted, links are hidden and cannot be known to any other person but the uploader. The .dlc format was developed by the JD team which also developed JDownloader and by using linksave.in and JDownloader (freeware), it will provide a more secure way of hosting your DDL files. Benefits of using JDownloader includes: -

    • Links are encrypt so no one but you will know the links (Dear trolls/fags just to save you effort note that opening the .dlc file with notepad won't work).
    • Jdownloader abuses the reconnect method to bypass annoying download limits for hosts such as MU and wait times for hosts such as RS and depositfiles for downloading multiple files but only works if your IP address is dynamic.
    • Many DDL links can be stored in one .dlc file (package), useful if you have say for example many parts for a movie or many albums for a discography or CD1s/CD2s for a album.
    • Supports many popular hosts, save a few. Works well with many hosts such as MU, RS, Sendspace, badongo, etc but for the time being not to mediafire as far as I know, due to MF constantly changing the coding and different countries have different versions of their hosts have been reported not to work.
    • Resume support for some sites, click here for list
    • Captcha code verification for MU, code entered automatically (doesn't work sometimes though). <---- +1 for those in the rant section
    • You won't get Ads/Pop-ups since you don't visit the hosting site itself.
    • Can unrar or merge the files that you download automatically.
    • No install required.

But of course nothing is perfect, here are some cons that I noticed: -

    • Doesn't support all hosts (obviously) and as I mentioned before if someone chooses to upload their links as a .dlc file then as leecher you will need to learn how to download using this application.
    • Somewhat a hassle, hosting/leeching wise.
    • You may find that one time its working with a particular host and then suddenly it doesn't. So this may be due to the different countries your localised in hence different versions of the hosting site or like mentioned above about mediafire (coding), thus you can either wait for updates from developers, leech from a different source or ask the uploader. I'm sure someone mentioned in the JD forums that they had to use recaptcha on MF for some country whereas other countries don't.
    • Can be quite troublesome if your behind a router.
    • Some features are buggy e.g. that MU OCR which for some reason doesn't work for some but it works for me for all the links I tested =p.

Before we start all uploaders/leechers need to grab JDownloader here and start it up then allow it to update. When it updates for the first time I suggest that if exit your BT cilent if on and turn off background tasks. Uploaders can bookmark linksave.in if you want too. Note that if you experience problems connecting with JDownloader then its either your router or firewall. If you can't find a solution then I suggest you drop by the JD forums. If all else fails then wire your connection =p.

IMPORTANT: If JDownloader doesn't start move the folder to C:\, i.e. Folder destination will become C:\JDownloader ***, where *** is the version.

UPLOADING - How to create a .dlc file for JDownloader ???

This is only going to be brief and basic guide on how to create a .dlc file with both JDownloader and linksave.in but to be honest isn't hard to learn so you can play around with the other functions/features linksave or JD when you have time.

Then upload your file for the hosts that are supported by both linksave.in and JDownloader. You can see the list of supported host for linksave here and the list for JDownloader in the configuration panel. You can get to the configuration panel by clicking the config tab on the left in the main menu (see screen). Then click on the "Hosts" tab and you can also accept all of the TOS/AGB for all the hosts if you want (optional).

Once you have your DDL links can I stress that you make note of your DDL links as backup for the reasons I mentioned earlier. Now go to linksave, you can make an account if you wish so that you can keep a record of all your protected links. If you made an account then you don't have to worry about backing up your links since this can serve as a backup.

Once done click on "Protect Links" and just paste your links into the "Links" box and I would deselect .rsdf and .ccf and just select .dlc (and click'n'load if you wish to share it this way). This is because .dlc encryption to date hasn't been broken and the rest have, then once your done click the "Protect Links" icon at the bottom. This will direct you to a page with a main link at the top of the screen, you can either share this link with others and the leechers can just download the .dlc themselves, use click'n'load if they are lazy or use the encypted http links lthat linksave provided (this is under the "Download" column incase you missed it). Note you can restrict things like when you are adding your links earlier on, at the "Publish download via" drop down box. If you choose say for example " only container formats(s)" then leechers won't be able to get access to those encryted http links I mentioned. Its all really up to you how you want to do things and there are many ways .....

But I like to be complicated and download the .dlc myself, load it into JDownloader, recreate a new .dlc through JDownloader and share that. This because I can recheck the links to see whether it is working or not and also make adjustments to the "Package Name" and "Comment" boxes (Double click anywhere on the package row to get the screen for editing the boxes to pop up). Then click "Add All Packages" or "Add Selected Package(s) where applicable and you will be back to the Download Menu (tab on the left) , see screen below: -

Now to recreate a new .dlc just right click the package (named "Eason Discography ..., etc" in this case) and "Create DLC", see screen below: -

Your done! Easy right? But I still bet some of you are thinking why I am so retarded and just stick to using either just linksave or JDownloader so why just complicate shit up by using both. There are 2 reasons for this: -

Reason 1 is that some hosting sites defeats the purpose of linksave as even though linksave encrypts the url in the address bar, somewhere on the hosting page (for some hosts, not all like sendspace) will show you the link. See screens below for examples : -

    Rapidshare
    [IMG]

    Megaupload
    [IMG]

    Mediafire
    [IMG]

So basically if you are sure that your favourite hosting site doesn't show you anywhere your download link then you can skip most of the steps and just use linksave :p

Reason 2 is that in JDownloader even though you can create .dlc files in there, however if .dlc files are created through JDownloader then your link can be seen again. As once you have added any links to encrypt via JDownloader then if you expand the package on the main menu and right click any of the download links, you will see a option called "Open in Browser". This serves as an alternative if you can't download it through JDownloader, this is the reason why I asked you to backup your links before =p. The screen below shows what I mean: -

So if your links are processed through a link encryption site like linksave then the "Open in Browser" in JDownloader won't work.

DOWNLOADING - How to dowload from a .dlc file or add DDL links found around PA to download with JDownloader ???

To load a .dlc file, click on the the "LinkGrabber" tab on the left and then "Open Containers" or you can just double click on the .dlc file itself. Also if like using this to download then you can add other DDL links found throughout the forum to this application as here you can type in the links manually so note that this is not just used for loading .dlc files. Honestly though I can't see anyone typing in the links into JDownloader so the linkgrabber for JDownloader is also very sensitive as any links you added to your clipboard (copying) will be loaded into JDownloader providing you started JDownloader. It is also very smart as it can filter out uneccessary words besides the links but I think its best to try it for yourself to see what I mean, open JDownloader and copy the whole thing below:-

    Picture 2: http://i40.tinypic.com/21omxz7.png
    Picture 3: http://i32.tinypic.com/a3duhe.png

If JDownloader isn't copying the links then make sure you enabled monitoring of your clipboard on the main menu, screen below to explain more about what I just said:

By any chance is someone shared via click'n'load and it doesn't work for you, click here.

After you loaded your .dlc file or added any DDL links you should then get screen below:

Note: Don't press add package straight away, wait for it to check to see if the links are online as they will save you any hassle later on. By double clicking on the package and you get a screen that pops up for that on the bottom and you can set it to auto extract here and enter in the password if needed, once all is done click "Add All Packages" or "Add Selected Package(s) where applicable and you will be back to the Download Menu (tab on the left).

If you come across a package with multiple links whereby they are different albums or mirrors then you can remove the one you don't want by expanding the package, right-click the link and delete. See screen below: -

Once done click this [IMG] to start the download.

    Final words

Big thanks for the guys that developed this app and please remember to keep JDownloader fully updated for the reasons mentioned above and yes I know there are still many benefits and cons that I haven't mentioned/missed but I probably nailed the most important ones/features. Also maybe if you have some spare dosh and you like the program, give the guys a donation as its serious business maintaining this app :p. Oh and yes there are other programs like cryptload so you can use those if you don't this application and other link protection sites (e.g. link-protector). Can I stress again that if any uploaders want to host your links this way, make a note of the links that you choose to encrypt to act as backup or make a account @ linksave. Also I am not a pro at this application as I just started to use this recently so if you encounter any problems I suggest (whether router, bugs or hosts problems) you ask in the JD forums. Thanks to pspzockerscene too from the JD forums for helping me with some questions ^^. Finally and thanks to Ang too, he also added .dlc as a allowed file attachment so for those who want to upload this way can attach it to your posts =D.
