I believe there has been a thread on this before but i just dealt with a (shit got to go home and change my clothes) situation today i forgot i'm not suppose to eat oranges i was hoping to compile a list of foods in which effect many girls' menstration cycle i know for me it's citrius fruits ice cream (frozen foods) vinegry foods coffee (more highly caffinated foods, because it sucks out water, which your highly lacking during this time) for my mom the same as above and also tomatoes and lettuce what foods are good for menstration cycles? i know come chinese people make soup out of red dates to help replenish iron
ermm...foods not to eat....what difference does it make anyways..??.. my mammi always tells me not to eat ice-cream but i dun see any difference...esp in the summer when its hott...definately need ice cream ga la.... thats the only one i can think of to be honest...-blush2
because it's "leurng" (cold) i dont understand it either but it consists of a lot of acidic foods i know lots of chinese medicinal stuff has been explained through western medicine, but a large part of it is still a mystery
lol Well foods I stay away from are fried foods. Chocolate as well. I try not to eat them much even when I don't have my period, cause I get acne from it.
where's artofwar when u need him?? hmmmm... y can't u eat oranges?? i just avoid chilled stuff coz it tend to make me feel more uncomfortable... besides that i just drink HEAPS of water n have lean red meat
i stay away from cold drinks. my mom says it makes ur period even heavier. don't know if it's true. i just don't wanna take the chance. also, cold stuff just makes me feel like crap. i actually drink more coffee. i find it helps with the cramps. i pretty much don't eat during the first few days. i just feel like crap.
oh yea the coffee thing yea the caffine acts as a pain killer for cramps (that is a good thing) but can help dehydrate you too (that is a bad thing)
yeah me too!! i try not to have anything cold like pop or ice cream my period gets heavier and i get worse cramps.. instead of coffee i eat chocolate.. i try to stay away from oily foods because it induces zits --' but that's just me
yeah...that's what science says. but honestly, this conclusion was probably made by some guy. there is a difference in the food u eat. science can conclude all they want, i just know when i eat something i shouldn't during my time, i feel like i've been smashed to the ground and kicked repeatedly
Sorry girls, had to come in =) bb when you are menstruating you should listen to your "mammi" and not eat ice-cream it is very bad for you especially at that time. When you are on your period I suggest you to save or hide your ice-cream until after when it is all gone okay! You also shouldn't be drinking cold drinks as that shall have the same effect as eating ice-cream.
