honestly, if we can eat meat, what's the diff? they say that the animals are cruely killed, have you seen meat farms, they aren't the best either (i personally dont wear fur, just cause i dont like how it looks on a fashion sence, but i dont have anything against others who do)
lol yea but just like dogs/chicken etc....people treat animals differently...the animals we eat are usually bred to be eaten and all. but like the animals we get the fur from are usually not bred to be skinned and all so people are like "awww poor thing" "thats freaking cruel" and all that stuff. it's just that there are different morals for different animals lols, and i don't we would ever change that. oh yea heard too much of the major criticisms from peta and all those crap. so i ain't gonna argue for or against fur since i don't really give a shit.
well theres a lot to say about this because many ppl have different views on this issue most of those animal lovers will so sympathy towards the animals that are skinned but those who wear them will be eh they still make a great looking coat or w/e but yeah i really have no opinion on this because i dont really care cause its already messed up as it is... so i guess i ill just go with w/e is up
The thing is, people feel more guilt towards the animal when their wearing their dead body over themselves... Think about it. Eating is what we have to do, but we dont HAVE to kill an animal just for their fur. And yeah meat farms are real cruel... theres like thousands and thousands of cows waiting to die, in like super cramped areas....
yeah i got a A&F full furrry jacket. Looks and feels Good =) but it prob fake fur lols... yeah i think its cruel how animals are killed ..
i think its cruel like um.... the feathers on chicken feather sticks they have to get pull feathers out from chickens .....wont like someone pulling out ur hairs one by one would u?
what's the diff with a leather jacket then? they dont do that to them when they are alive. They just take the chickens that are headed to the supermarket and shed their feathers for other uses, such as down (sp?) coats, and yes, the feather sticks. they do not waste the time of defeathering a chicken, and expect it to grow back, when humans are consumming chickens at such a high rate. It's like the native americans and asians did, using ALL parts of the animal.
i'm all for the treating animals nicely and preserving the endangered but i'm not a hardcore animal activist. i eat meat and am all for wearing leather handbags for the sake of fashion. in fact i disagree with a lot of things PETA does. but i just don't like fur, simply cuz i don't like the feeling of wearing it (i know it's nice and soft but i just don't wear it).
I think it's a quality thing, at the moment, leather is one of the highest quality "fabric" to be used in accessories, so I am all for that. I f one day an non-animal based alternative comes by, I would switch if it's economically viable. As for fur... It's not my thing, so not a lot of comment on it. But I really don't like the whole "let's wear a dead fox on my neck" thing, it put a "face" to the product and looks like a fragging specimen. And yes, down jacket, leather, fur, meat, anything made from ivory, even you know, many fragrance and their related products are pretty cruel if you think of how Ambergris is harvested. So it would be pure hypocrisy to be targeting fur ALONE. But then again, PETA is all about propaganda and misinformation...
as long as the rest of the animal is used, not just for its fur... and we're not depleting the species... i dun care honestly =/
Ambergris is the fat of a particular class of whales which are used/processed to make fragrance and other cosmetic products.
Became a Vegan when I found out about what I ate! So I HATE FUR! We're all goods creatures and to see an animal killed [even though we need to survive] for food, personally I can't take it! So, I'm weak!
They still use it... in luxury brands. Like fur, these "traditional" but slightly taboo'd use of animal product is held in the highest regard (to many in the fashion industry anyways).
Or so they said. The most luxurious brands still use ambergris to create "non-synthetic" parfum products... Since one catch can yield such large quantity of products, it is only done once in a while and won't get onto the news unless the Sea Shepherds do anything to bring media attention to it.
fur carpet are hella comfortable to lie on, kinda stinks tho after a while (ithink my ucnle has 1) but its still hella comfy..
