Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) recently pocketed a six-figure sum while endorsing a healthy foods brand. While filming a commercial for the brand, Wayne was dressed in a sleek black suit and emitted an air of maturity, classiness, and intelligence. “From what the advertising company said, they sought me out to be a spokesperson because of my healthy image. That makes me happy. This product appeals to successful people. Their work schedule is busy and they often do not have the time to really take care of their health. The commercial created a very masculine image for me and mirrors James Bond. It’s very manly.” In regards to his masculine image, Wayne further revealed that director Ringo Lam (林嶺東) invited him to star in a new comedy film. Although not considered to be classically handsome, Wayne’s pleasant looks and versatile acting landed him in leading roles. The 51-year-old joked, “I feel like I’m getting manlier.” When he was a young man, Wayne had hoped that he had more female admirers. Marrying his girlfriend of ten years in his first marriage, the relationship eventually ended when Wayne realized that what he experienced was not true love, but rather obligation. Now in a loving second marriage with Julia, who also acts as his manager, Wayne found happiness in having a simple family. He no longer wishes to attract other female admirers, joking “I’ve been tamed by my wife early on. Plus, my wife guards very strongly.
