    Hi,
I havent traveled much. In my last vacations my parents ususally book those tour packages from a chinatown traveling agency and it ususally crappy because they give you the cheapest motels and airlines. This time I am planning to book our own either with expedia or orbitz. Its going to be 5 people, me, my gf, my 14 yr old brother, mom and dad. We are in Boston, MA. Suggestions of should we go? We have to go starting the week of April 21 because that is when my brother has his school april vacation. It looks like that week is a bit more expensive. Any tips on how or which website is better for a vacation noob.
    Is Chicago a good destination?
    Thank you!!

Edit * I did some research and chicago looks to be pretty fun.

vancouver is a cool place to go, if you want to stay in north america.

real international travel is alot more fun though... mexico, costa rica, or maybe a cruise around the Caribbean, if you are looking for a warm vacation.

europe also has alot of prime destinations, London, Paris, Nice, Germany....

heh or Asia, but if you are going to Asia you will need to make sure your place books you into nicer hotels, cuz with some places the standard or living is pretty low, with the exception of south korea and japan.

This may be irrelevant, but why the heck are you going on vacation with your GF and your family? You either go with one or the other, it'll be awkward otherwise.

I would consult with a couple CLOSER friends and plan a vacation with them instead, it's easier that way.

I think expedia.com has the best prices.

there is nothing unusual about it. going as one family on vacation is pretty common. adn she is considered part of the deal i reckon.

Depends how much money you got. Flying 5 ppl is gonna cost at least 2000$ + hotel and food.

I have been to Chicago a few times, can't say it's the most interesting place.

    Places I have enjoyed:
Seaworld in San Diego; but not so much on the SD Zoo
Universal Studio in LA; not so much on Disneyland
Grand Canyon - it's so much better to see it yourself rather than on postcards
Las Vegas (hehe .. got to love the sin city)

If you go to LV, go look for a show ... I went to 'O' before and it's awesome. I didn't like 'Zumanity' at all. I heard good things about 'KA'.

    shop shop shop ... expedia.com, hotels.com, orbitz.com, hotwire.com

  16. ...... tofu.... lol i have a friend that goes by that name and lives in Boston...... which is where i am from as well.......

anyways.... depending on your spending limit.... you can go to Florida, or California for warm places but personally i would rather much go over seas if you have more time...... to Hong Kong, Tokyo, or even Thailand... haha but all in all the best simple vacations are cruises..... like 7 days.... to the carribean but seriously one week isn't enough for me to really get into awesome vacations....... so yeah........
