I have some really bad allergies, I heard from a friend who went fasting for 10 days. And he got rid of it.

  2. errrr... if there's no medical explanation to this then i wouldn't believe it... unless ur fd said he prayed so hard that God got rid of his allergies...

i mean this lady from the church i go to had some really bad skin disorder... she went to the doctors n they couldn't do anything abt it... n when she became Christian she asked God to heal her n now they disorder's gone...

  3. lol. thats purely a myth.

if fasting 10 days could help me get rid of mine, my doc would have suggested it.

  4. it's more like ur doc would b out of business... -lol

What was your friend allergic to? And yours?

Fasting as a cure for anything? Sounds fishy at best.

And really, I would attribute the ridding of allergies pure luck, I grew out of some of my allergies and no, I don't think it has anything to do with anything. Depending on age and lifestyle, allergies (even asthma) can be grow out of.

If its food allergies, possible reason is that fasting decrease the productions of histamine in the body but other allergies, no clue.

was he allergic to food in general? hahahaha

the chemical in gravol is dimenhydrate... it is an antihistamine but it's really only marketed as an anti-nausea drug. I don't know how effective it would be for preventing/treating allergic reactions. ironically i've heard that some people are actually allergic to gravol lol.

lol so ur allergy to Peanuts, lol if ur allergied to that u prob wouldnt eat that anyway , and im sure thats more than 10 days , =P i mean u wouldnt eat peanuts if it made ur skin itchy. so

But it wouldn't "cure" the allergies... Just alleviate the symptoms temporarily...

Or tough it out believing that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger (to a certain extent, it's true)

Am I the only person who doesn't understand this particular post? Most of the peanuts allergies are so severe that it's much more than inflamed patches of skin... Systemic vasodilation can be deadly.

lol just an example, You WOuldnt eat something that's allergic to you. because u would know its bad for you unless you just realised you have grown a allergy to something

Not necessarily. I ate plenty of shellfish even back in the days when I was SEVERELY allergic to them, taste reigns all (as long as I don't die because of its consumption).

Plus, with many allergies, it comes and goes and often go undetected. At the other end of the spectrum, some people are allergic to so many different things that to avoid every single one of them is (near) impossible.

Prob his B cells memory of the allergen got erased? Besides, OP was too broad with topic. -lol

lol plus if u ate allergy stuff , would ur body suffer , like skin problems and etc , lol dont ruin ur body just because it tastes good

That doesn't sound very scientific, especially coming from you -_-2

But if you don't sometimes brave the potential challenges, you will never know if you grew out of those allergies.

i dont think thats true. fasting and getting rid of allergies? if it was like that.. i think many ppl who have allergies would have already done it
