im working on this piece about fads and vogue, but i noe nothing about vogue, except that its a monthly (?) magazine. can someone give me s description of what vogue says and the importance of it in society, u don't hafta agree that it is important, just your views on it.
Um, it depends on which part of "vogue" you asking about -- since it's both a proper noun describing "the popular taste of a given time" or the name of the magazine. But if you associate vogue with the term fad, it's probably (1) dressing trend (such as mod and punk and grunge) But if you ask about the magazine, it is one of the most prestigious fashion magazine for its extensive coverage on both ready-to-wear luxury fashion and haute couture high fashion, while affiliated with CFDA the US fashion designer guild (I forgot the full name). It is also renowned for its potency in promoting new brands -- if a piece got coverage in Vogue, you bet it's gonna get hot in a few season. And of course, the US edition of vogue is KNOWN for its editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, who were believed to be the "inspiration" of Miranda Presley in Devil Wears Prada.
