Thursday, July 23, 2009 China Recently, a tabloid report claimed that Vicki Zhao Wei intended to quietly get married and retire from the entertainment industry. Earlier, Vicki had stated that her hiatus was due to a need to concentrate on completing her Master's degree in Directing at the Beijing Film Academy. Reporters contacted Vicki's manager, Chen Rong, to confirm marriage and retirement rumors. Chen said that Vicki will not retire from the entertainment industry. Pretty surprising news when I first heard about it, marriage is fine but retiring when she's as popular as ever would really be terrible for movie viewers.
There is no point of getting a degree in directing if she has no intention to remain in the entertainment industry. This is obviously a rumour. Though I don't think it's a bad idea to get out of acting whilst you're on top. You don't wanna leave when you're no longer popular or needed and starting getting pathetic roles on needed basis. That would be pitiful.
Does anyone know who her current boyfriend is? The last rumor was that she broke up someone's marriage. Don't know much about her recent roles. Is she mainly in movies now? The last TV series I saw was a bore.
