Sunday January 20, 2008 Hong Kong Boasting a long list of successes at the recent music awards events, including Eason Chan (陳奕迅) taking the Four Stations Combined Media Award, Universal Music Hong Kong (環球唱片) held a special celebration party yesterday. Among those in attendance, in addition to Eason, were Hacken Lee (李克勤), Eric Suen (孫耀威), Kay Tse (謝安琪) and Hins Cheung (張敬軒), who had all celebrated successes of their own this year. After the presentation of his Media award earlier at the RTHK awards ceremony, Eason had performed renditions of songs by the four heavenly kings, Leslie Cheung (張國榮) and Alan Tam (譚詠麟), but during one of the dance moves, he had injured his hand and when he sang Andy Lau (劉德華)'s song "Seeking Pleasure Alone" <獨自去偷歡>, he lost track of the song. Eason admitted that he did run out of breath, but said that he was very happy singing these songs and pay his respects to all his seniors. Asked if he was too excited about winning so many awards, Eason said that at the time he was not even thinking about the awards, because he was too nervous about his performance. Hacken felt that Eason's achievement was well deserved and asked if he plans to take this award from Eason in the future, he replied that he has never been in the running because has come in consistently in third position each year. As for whether he will see this as a personal target, he said he has not thought about it, but smiled he will work a little harder, so that if he wins that award, he can retire. Asked why he is thinking of retirement so soon and whether or not he is still looking to have more children, Hacken said that he has no plans at the moment for another child, but if he has twins, like Carlo Ng (吳家樂) and they end up with three children, he will have to hold a concert every year to make ends meet. He confessed that he is looking to save more money and daren't have too many children. When it was mentioned that Eason has expressed a wish for another child, Hacken smiled that Eason has won the award, so he has a reason to, but he has not won the award yet, so if people do want him to have another child, then they should give it to him next year. There have been reports recently that Hins is not interested in becoming an immigrant to Hong Kong, but he denied this and said that he does plan to apply for Hong Kong citizenship under the special talent scheme. He said that it would be an honour to become a Hong Kong citizen and only several hundred people out of the 1.3 billion population in China can qualify under this scheme, so he finds this is a privilege. Asked what criteria he needs to meet to qualify for acceptance, Hins revealed that he has to have won international awards or have a high education. He said that his achievements this year have proven his ability, but he has been worried about the effect that the recent negative press has had on his application. He added that any contribution to society will also help his case as does a good image, so he pledges that if his application is accepted, he will bring benefit to Hong Kong. credits: batgwa.
