Ok i just installed ubuntu onto my old laptop. Problem is i cant open my cd drive. The button on my cd drive is broken so ive always ejected it from windows. Now that ive installed ubuntu, eject doesnt work unless theres actually something in the drive. Does anyone know how i can open my drive short of prying it open with a screwdriver? T-T
Do you see a small "reset" hole on your cd drive? If there is one, a pin or paper clip to it will force it to eject.
This should help... kinda nice too since ur button's not working... http://sudan.ubuntuforums.com/showthread.php?t=660515
