Saturday, March 29, 2008 Hong Kong Twelve Artistes Go Work For ATV; Fiona Yuen Gets Double Her Pay at TVB Yesterday, ATV held the first gathering for newly signed artistes of 2008. The artistes who attended were Fiona Yeun, Mini Kung, Ling Yeung, Angel Ho, Tak Fan Au-Yeung, and Kai-Tai Cheng. They are the twelve new artistes joining ATV. At the gathering, there were ATV executives. After joining ATV, Fiona will mainly be a host. Her pay will be double the pay at TVB. She expressed that at the end of January, she was in Beijing taping an Olympic special for ATV. She introduces different Olympic athletes and the locations of the games. But she didn’t get the chance to interview athletes yet. Mini and Ling will host a women’s show. Mini expressed that a host will have a consistent schedule so it will be convenient for her to take care of her child. She will consider filming series when her child grows older because the schedule for filming is inconsistent. Ling signed a two year contract with ATV. She has not appeared on screen for five years. The day before her first day of filming, she was so nervous that she couldn’t sleep. But she is becoming well-adjusted to the job now. credits: asian-gossip.
Title is misleading, I thought it meant she actually gained more at TVB, nevertheless, heaps of people are going to ATV because of way higher salaries.
well u have to understand there're too many artists in TVB, it's hard to get famous that way. No love for ATV except........there're two in the 90s
lol but still its better working for TVB, i mean , whos heard of ATV. but then again ATV is like Fully Chinese so shes on Air to the Chinese Market , so i dunno Lah xD
No offence to TVB fans, i watch it often too, but i don't like having one channel for the whole of HK. Monopoly of the free-to -air TV market is not healthy, it stops competition & decrease creativity of shows. In fact, a lot of into-tainment shows of TVB copy famous aTV formats. If it means better quality shows on both channels, the audience are the benefactors.
TVB is better cause of the people and series. ATV series are weird :S alot of weirdos playing in it and also the audio sux >.<
TVB may be more popular with the viewers etc, but if ATV is paying better, its a way to earn more money in a shorter period of time. Though the ones just gone werent that popular in the 1st place, so doubt pple would care much.
So there are 12 new guys/girls at ATV, it only mentions a couple of them, who are the rest? I heard Lawrence Ng and Kenix Kwok went over too....but thats probably just a rumor.....
