Wednesday July 2, 2008 Hong Kong TVB held a special ceremony on Sunday to reveal the line up for the station's coverage of the Olympic Games in Beijing this year. An open top bus brought the TVB sports presentation team together with the celebrity host team that included Carol Cheng (鄭裕玲), Nat Chan (陳百祥), Hacken Lee (李克勤), Alex Fong (方力申), Dexter Yeung (楊天經) and Tracy Ip (葉翠翠). Fronting the Olympic coverage this year for the first time, Carol said that she will be based in the Beijing studio and revealed that during the special training programme that she attended earlier, she was made prefect of the class and graduated with honours. She added that she does not feel too much pressure for the assignment because this is the first time she has presented any sporting programme and people will not have any expectations from her. She smiled that there will also be plenty of experts on hand to help with her knowledge gaps. Hacken, Alex Leo Ku (古巨基) and Kayi Cheung (張嘉兒) will also be based in Beijing. Nat, Tracy, Sharon Luk (陸詩韻) and Jack Wu (胡諾言) will be manning the Hong Kong studio. Hacken revealed that he will be spending three weeks away in Beijing and said that he will be missing his baby son, Ryan, but this is a chance in a lifetime that he does not want to miss. Alex said that his family will be travelling with him to Beijing and although they may not get tickets to watch the events, they will still enjoy the overall atmosphere in the city. Talking of the recent rumours suggesting that Twins will be splitting up, Alex said that Gillian Chung (鍾欣桐) and Charlene Choi (蔡卓妍) have always had their own solo careers, so that is nothing new. As for the continued delay of Gillian's return, Alex said that he will support her when she does come back and their film The Fantastic Water Babes <出水芙蓉> can finally be released. credits: batgwa.
