Rumour has it that the Shaw Brothers' new drama, "Flying Tiger II" has postponed its airing date in Hong Kong due to the socio-political situation in the region.

As reported on Mingpao, the series, which is also the sequel to the hit 2018's series revolving around the team of elite Hong Kong police squad tasked with infiltrating a dangerous criminal organisation, was revealed to have made its debut on Chinese streaming site, Youku on 6 September.

However, it has not confirmed its airing schedule in Hong Kong.

Many suspected that the lack of promotional activities and airing schedule in Hong Kong had something to do with the current hostility between Hong Kong citizens and the police force stemming from the extradition bill protests, with TVB currently avoiding airing cop-themed dramas.

When asked about it, co-star Kenneth Ma stated, "I have no idea [about TVB's airing date]. But it has long been arranged that Youku will release it in September."

The sequel also stars original cast members Ron Ng and Bosco Wong, with the addition of Kenneth and Lawrence Ng.

The original series was streamed via Youku and MyTV Super in April 2018, before TVB picked it up in May the same year.

The first 12 episodes is already released on Youku.
The ways things are playing out in HK atm I don't think TVB will be in a hurry to air this drama.

The theme song by Karen Mok :thumbsup3:
