TVB producer Yip Chun Fai recently announced that the company has greenlit a sequel to his previously concluded series, "Barrack O'Karma".
As reported on Singtao Daily, the producer, who shared the good news at the celebratory banquet for the cast and crew, said that he has just been informed about it, and that they will soon begin outlining the story for the sequel.
"If we are to shoot the second season, we have to add some new elements. It won't be fair to the audience if there is nothing fresh presented," he said.
For now, Yip said that he is still unsure about the plot and storyline, or whether they will create new characters or continue with the old ones.
"It's difficult to continue with the original characters because of the ending, but we're worried that viewers will also have difficulties accepting new characters," he said.
As to whether lead actress Selena Lee will return despite the fact she has already left TVB, Yip said that they will discuss the matters again in the future when everything is set.
"But everybody has been expressing interest to participate in the sequel. We expect to start shooting sometime in April or May next year," he said.
