Even though it is still in the early filming stages, The Apostle <使徒行者> is already being positioned as one of the biggest TVB productions for 2014. Not only does it feature an A-list cast that includes “top sister” Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), the crime thriller also hopes to wow viewers with its many action-packed scenes. Despite an earlier spinal disc injury, Charmaine has healed in time and has begun shooting some of the series’ more action-oriented moments. Along with co-stars Raymond Lam (林峯) and Oscar Leung (梁烈唯), Charmaine filmed an action scene on February 4. Returning to the set after the Lunar New Year holiday, the trio was in a happy mood and spread the joy by passing out red packets to crew members before filming began. Charmaine was in tip-top condition on yesterday and easily took out her opponent with precise kicks. Her first time portraying an undercover cop, she is excited about the role and happy to be back on the TVB set. Concerned about her injury, Charmaine is taking extra precautions but luckily she is only required to perform very light moves. Raymond however must channel his inner warrior. Also playing an undercover informant, he was involved in a street brawl in order to protect his friend Oscar. With just a wooden stick in hand, Raymond hit quickly and in style as he took on a group of gangsters. Despite having to perform the action repeatedly to get the perfect shot, he looked energetic every time and saw it as a good way to get some exercise. Although he picked up valuable action experience from his Tiger Cub <飛虎> days, Oscar still has more to learn as he will be involved in even more fighting in The Apostle and will unfortunately be beaten up. He does not mind one bit, joking, “Maybe the director thinks that I am too handsome and cannot be truly happy until my face is bruised and swollen from all the beatings.” Creds: Ming Pao
