Charmaine Sheh - 10 years Charmaine is the 1997 Miss Hong Kong 2nd runner-up. Her acting was criticized when she made her debut to the showbiz. After 9 years of hard work, she was crowned TV Queen with series "Maiden's Vow" in 2006. Ada Choi - 10 years Also Miss Hong Kong 2nd runner-up (1989), Ada won "Best Actress" with "Secret of the Heart" in 1998. Jessica Hsuan - 9 years Jessica joins TVB in 1991 but it was in 1999 that she finally became TV Queen with series "Detective Investigation Files IV." Maggie Cheung - 10 years Although she didn't make into the top 3 in 1994's Miss Hong Kong, but she became TV Queen i 2003 with series "The King of Yesterday and Tomorrow." It's not like they will give this award to some noob even if she acted well... All these people develop long term relationship with many types of people, including fans. And when the right role comes around, it's going to take more than just great acting.
yes...it takes time to build up experience and skills...but also it takes time to build up popularity amongst the tv audience. Somehow a time frame of 10 years may not be a definate...thinking if Tavia or Linda have a chance of breaking the mould given their prominent rise to the fold?
Charmaine's acting still sucks til now. her acting just like a 小姐 type just like in Can't Buy Me Love,a series tat sucks the most for tis year but yet nominated,CRAZY! ask her to act as spoiled child can la,others especially serious-type cannot lar. i stil remember how she ruins the whole series of Forensic Heroes 2(luckily she's not in 3rd installments of tis forensic series,FUHH!!!). i can't imagine if charmaine takes over sheren tang's in Rosy Business o No Regrets,i think straight away ratings drop BADLY!

the previous winners deserve winning the award. come to think of it, it's quite true that the winners all have many years of acting experience before they are deserve for the award.
