Alcohol is so very toxic to all cells of the body, more damaging to these cells than even some very potent drugs, reaches your brain in about a minute and is converted pretty much to visceral fat in your body. Please take a look at the following press releases from the Center for Science in the Public Interest from earlier this year: http://www.cspinet.org/new/200801221.html and http://www.cspinet.org/new/200802281.html . After viewing all the information is there anything that you learned that perhaps you didn't already know? Does having that information change your own approach to alcohol? Do you think that banning the production of an alcoholic beverage that contains an energy drink, potentially masking to that you are drunk should be stopped? Do you think labeling an alcoholic product with regard to calories, ingredients and alcoholic content per serving will make a difference to those that purchase it? What role do you think government should play in the advertising of alcohol (on television, to younger viewers, etc.)?

  2. We live in aliberal soiety so whats happening will only get worse.. or better for those who like it this way.

alcohol isnt good for you, but if fags that say they are gona kill you doesn't deter people from buying them then i doubt a sign on a bottle of the devils juice is gona stop anyone from buying it. actually it may make it more popular with the kids, street cred an all

lol... ever heard of a jagerbomb? that's what alcospeed basically is... except for the fact that alcospeed will probably be the safer way to go since beer takes longer to be processed through the body than a shot of jager... so u probably won't get grounded as hard or as fast either...

alcohol's been a part of society since pretty much the beginning of time... u dont' want to drink? good for u... but trying telling that to the german, french, english... they'll laff ur ass out of the country...

sorry m8, this is a semi good topic and all... but the way u presented it sounds so very biased, one sided and just pisses me off... so i'll probably not be returning to this thread either... g'day...

They tried to ban it in the early century but it didn't work since people just want it more and caused other problems. Alcoholic drinks help set moods and loosen some people up and have fun in parties but will mess you up if you drink all the time, it'll mess your liver up.

Still, in the society we live in now, pretty much everyone will have a drink from time to time.

Then you aren't asian :p lol. Joking. Anyways, I think our generation of asians seem to have less people with the asian glow issue when they drink. I a bit rosy, but it isn't obvious. This is exactly why asians cant go home drunk, because your parents can tell very quickly if you're drunk or not lol.

Correct me if i'm wrong.. but I remember reading an article that said drinking alcohol moderately (1-2 glasses a day) decreases the chance of heart disease by 40 or 50%? and statistically moderate drinkers live longer than people who don't drink and people who drink frequently.

I believe if you drink in moderation it can be good for you. As some posted it can help reduce your chance of a heart attack especially red wine. I personally dont drink since I dont like the taste but in the future I may take up red wine.

I don't think Alcohol is really affecting our lives all that much...
You can say it's toxic and bad for our health, but I never really heard someone die from Alcohol but more like a cause of death ex: Car accident, etc
People will drink as long as they want to, it's kinda like McDonald, people know it's unhealthy now but there are still lots of people eating from it, so does it mean that we should ban fast food?

^ yeah I agree, something that gives you instantaneous pleasure is almost never going to die out. Our society today really revolves around alcohol, just as it did century's ago.
(alot of people actually do die from alcohol poisoning though).. especially those that can't control how much they drink. Plus... drinks do make things alot funner lol

i find that most people, especially teens, drink so they look tough/mature or just because others are doing it. if you don't, you are considered "out".
