    [N] RATED [ ]

Lol while i'm at at might as well. But anyways discuss about technological items or just about any product you bought here i guess. This can be considered as a counterpart to the Hot Deals Thread I guess. Just discuss about the products you bought or rate them here.

I'll just use a simplistic scale but if you want to create a better scale for certain products, you can tell me to add here.

Scale: 0= "Don't Buy This! Absolutely Useless" 10= "This product is Perfect, Must Buy or Have"

Anyways first product I am reviewing is the:

    Plantronics Audio 345 Stereo Headset

This is like the first headset i got so i'm not really an expert in this or anything. But for $25 this is a pretty good headset i guess. The mic is pretty clear sometimes and the control is quite simplistic. The Sound for listening the music is not too good though, cause i had to turn my computer volume to max and the volume controller to max. Also no bass whatever through these if you want to use it for music listening. Voice chat reception is good. I didn't quite like the behind the neck design though because it's kind of heavy. But i'll say these are great headsets for the price.

    My Rating: 8/10

    Nokia N72:

This phone was a gift, I have been using it for a couple months now. The slide on the back that turns on the camera is quite annoying at times for it slides quite easily and can accidentally slide and leave the camera running for awhile before it goes into standby mode. It is a 2 megapixel camera and takes very good pictures, also can record videos; unfortunatly either I haven't figured it out or you just can't zoom while filming. The features aren't too much different between the phones you see on the market, it does use a memory card to have extended memory space, it has a music player. But personally i think it lags a little and i think unless you have a headset other people can't hear you well when you are outside... maybe it's just mine. Either way its a decent phone to have but of course there are much better and im looking forward to the N96 (huge jump)

fine o_O do i need to post pic? im too lazy to post pic...

    JBL Spot...
For the price of $19.99, I'll say it was a good speaker system, won't be as loud as any 5.1 surround sound speakers, since this speaker is mainly just a little 2.1 for mp3 players.. but you can use it for your computers also... better than most 2.1 speaker, sound quality is pretty nice on this.

well, first off, this is a review about the Shure SE110 which price supposely it is about $24.99-$99.99.

You can easily tell the difference between some very cheap earphones and this, the bass quality is very good.. sound is good also. I've tested a lot of earphones, such as Griffin TuneBuds, JVC Marshmallow, Altec Lansing uhh... i forgot what model, JVC Gumy, Zune Premium V1, and others... too many to list, so far the sound quality and bass is the best on the Shure SE110. It is very Comfortable also, same as the JVC Marshmallow since it uses a form as the tip instead of flex.

    Rating: 9/10
pros: bass, sound quality, price(if you can get for $25), comes with a case, about 6 different kind of tips for your earphone
cons: very expensive if you can't get for cheap, not much, besides falling out easy if the wire didn't wrap around your ear.

thats one of my review i posted on another site...

    My own little description :)
Things that came with it was lots of ipod docking adatpers thingy.. a remote.. bag.. audio cable, speaker itself of course, and AC wall power.
The sound quality is pretty good.. bass response is good...was totally worth it for $20**(clearance item at bestbuy)**.. wasn't bad.. portable.. loud enough for my room. The bad part is.. you have to leave your zune or other mp3 player on the ground or somewhere.. since the dock is only made for apple ipods... it can be battery powered or use your AC adapter for power.. so its good choice if you want it to be portable

    Price Range: $20(clearance of course)-$100

Pros: Sound Quality, Portable, bass, low price.
    Cons: No Zune adapter

    Brand: Sony
    Tech: Playstation 3
    Price: 399 - 499

I'm not gonna bother with a manufacturer description, if you want that you can check out sony's site with all their tech and marketing jargon. Basically, this is the most versatile and capable piece of technology I have ever bought. I only own two games, but to be honest the system is better described as a home theater media center that is capable of playing video games. I currently have roughly 300 gigs of music, video and pictures streaming over my network and due to the wide range of formats supported by the system, most of my media works fine (although I occasionally find some videos that wont play, perhaps due to being encoded with some more obscure codecs). Blu-Ray is also amazing. I had been under the impression that it was only marginally better than DVD, but after seeing a BR disc in all its 1080p glory I shat bricks. To my knowledge the PS3's BR capabilities are as good as most standalone players on the market, and even better after the last update which adds more advanced audio support, including full 7.1 sound.

Gaming is excellent on the system as well. I've beaten Ratchet & Clank, Drake's Fortune, and most of GT5, and all these games have shown that the PS3 is capable of some truly amazing graphics and gameplay. I don't know if its significantly better than the Xbox360 in terms of graphics capability, but the fact that games look this good at such an early point in the system's life bodes well. If someone looks at the PS2 and compares a game released at the beginning of that system's life, compared to near the end, the difference is incredible.
The controller is also perfect. I'm happy that Sony decided to stick with their tried and true design of the Dual Shock 2, which is both comfortable and intuitive. The controller that comes with the system isn't too weighty and feels like a cheap product, but I have recently purchased a DualShock 3 and im pleased to say that controller is perfectly weighted and feels great in the hand. Also, the fact the controls run on bluetooth technology means that you don't have to worry about slow response times or getting disconnected.

I do have a couple negative things to say about this system though. It gets extremely hot. My room isn't very large and after the PS3 and LCD TV have been going for a couple hours my whole room becomes uncomfortably warm. Supposedly this problem will be addressed when sony switches to 45nm chip architecture, but that probably wont happen for at least another 6 months

Also, the fact that sony doesn't have backwards compatibility on the lower priced models pisses me off for pretty obvious reasons. There are also a few stupid things with the operating system. The OS splits your media into pics, music and vids, and then when you go down into each menu you have to choose between vids, music and pics again... its so ridiculously redundant. But then again, this is just a minor foible. Overall the system is great, and I doubt anyone would suffer buyers remorse at the purchase of a PS3 (Especially once games like GTAIV, MGS4 and the next final fantasy are released).

    Score: 9/10

Logitech 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker System (X-540)
    http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10081250&catid=20399

It's basically a 5.1 surround computer speaker set with a subwoofer. For its price, the sound is very impressive. For someone who is the average person who just wants rich sound and nothing else, this is the best thing ever. If you're someone who is very picky about sound, then you may find some small flaws in the output of the sound. However, for normal people like me, I think this is the cheapest, best sounding system I will get in a while.

NOTE: I got mine for $50 CDN, because best buy was doing a grand opening sale. Regular price was 140. However, it's selling for 100 dollars right now on best buy. Nonetheless, still a great system.

    My Rating: 8.5/10
