Torrent file for 2 CD Mandarin Audio (HC Chinese Sub) RMVB only Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi reportedly continues to have a very tough time as everything I've read points to how her previously most loyal HK followers have continued to desert her at the box office. Considering her own marital woes, starring in a film in which she plays a champion against infidelity is, ...well, ...kinda hypocritical as well as self defeating; her on-screen character a perpetual ironic reminder of what a shambles her off-screen dalliances had made of her own life and marriage. Having said that, this movie also isn't anywhere as good as the original. Sequels of successful films in general, by their nature, are usually tough acts to pull off. One has to remember too, that the first 'Lion Roars' was a decade ago; Cheung's appearance was a lot fresher back then and she's now in her thirties. Though she remains attractive, she does begin to appear a bit more See-Lai'ish; her face isn't as pretty, her features beginning to be a bit gaunt, and facial quirks that previously had passed as endearing now borders sometimes on the annoying. Moreover, she then had a capable character foil in Louis Koo, which I suspect that half of the HK audience (ie the female half) went just to see him. Moreover, despite present co-star Xiao Shenyang's meteoric rise in mainland show business, he's (IMHO) still not of the same ticket sales stature as Koo; at least not with HK'ers. Hence, to the average cinema goer in the former colony, there's little attraction besides a well known alumnus of the infamous 'Edison' sorority. A decade later is different times, indeed. But all is not lost for Cheung as the mainland venues still thinks she's (or possibly, he's) hot stuff. The film seems to be doing rather well there even as HK houses are barely showing it. At any rate, this RMVB version is perfectly viewable, having had the color saturation dialed all the way up and a maxed out 'smooth' filter employed during the encode; for its purposes it works well. The audio sadly, seems stripped to bare minimum and comes off rather tinny and scratchy, sounding at times like AM radio (for those of you old enough to even remember such medieval horrors, LOL...) Thus, this version is for viewers that simply want the story. More discriminating audiences that need a 'keeper' quality encode shouldn't bother and wait instead for a better rip.
