Mutilated child beggars in Asia In Asia thousands of children are being mutilated annually. The joints of their bones get injected with bleach. Infection is the result and amputation follows. Eyes are stuck out as well. Afterwards, the children are sent out on the streets where they have to beg for money, 15 hours a day or more. The proceeds of the begging goes to the torturers, which are organised gangs specialised in mutilation and exploitation of defenceless children. Visibly deformed children invoke pity and sympathy, and thus these children are lucrative beggars. Especially western tourists appear to be sensitive; they give money generously. Therefore, tourism is one of the most important causes for the growth of this horrible practice. Fear and subjugation The child beggars are kidnapped as a baby or a kid. Often they are bought from very poor parents by false promising. Hereafter the new ‘owners’, mostly the gang leaders, mutilate the children with possible help from corrupt physicians. As soon as the wounds get healed, the lame child is sent out on the street. To struggle means to get maltreated. Especially the threat of further mutilation appeals to enormous fear and subjugation. This is why the children beg for seven days a week, especially at the places which are visited by tourists. During the day you will find the children close to hotels, souvenir shops and tourist sights. In the evening they go to expensive restaurants and nightclubs. Although tens of thousands of children must suffer this horrible fate, perpetrators rarely get arrested. Chase for new victims These gangs exploiting children are well organised and have hardly anything to fear from local authorities. Their activities are extremely lucrative; the gang leaders make use of many dealers who strip the country for new children. Nevertheless the gang leaders present themselves as ‘benefactors', who take care of disabled children and who provide them with food, beverage and accommodation. How can you help the child beggars? Do not give any money. The children do not receive a penny of it.
"How can you help the child beggars? Do not give any money. The children do not receive a penny of it." I guess this would work in long run geh.. However, it is rather tragic, b/c they would get their ass beaten and probably kill all of those children or force them into slaves of some sort... It's kind of ironic, if you don't help them, they'll just find new ways to make their money such as sex slaves etc...
As fucked up things go... this is pretty fucked up. They need to find these gang leaders and inject some shit into their joints... like aresenic.
I do not have the power to help those poor children ..however some one with strong power in the justice system, however we hardly ever see these individuals in today's society. some one with power in the underground criminal society, however what is the chance of that? 0.0000000000000001 in 1,000,000? the world is a cruel place, some suffer with no possible help. It is sad, hopefully one day, maybe in a decade, things may be better, but every thing these days are about profit. The question is how can this be done? theories?
I have heard about this type of stories when I was a kid in Vietnam. My parents told us not to go out and play at dark because there are bad guys out there who will kidnap you and sell you off to be a beggar. At the time, I thought they were only scaring me so that I will listen and not to go out and play. I didn't go out anyway. I go to Asia a lot for work and vacation. I saw beggars loitering hotels and tourist areas but I didn't give it much thought. My only impression was that "ah, this is normal for a poor country" so I just gave a dollar or two to them and move on about my businesses. Sometimes, one sees me hand out money, an entire group gather up on me, it's scary so I stopped doing that. I do give up every now and then depending on the circumstance like making sure no group near by sorta speak. Until recently, a friend's child was lost in Vietnam that I was horrified. Luckily, he was simply lost and found; thanks to long time neighbor who recognized the kid. That's when stories unfold and friend told me about how scary Vietnam is for kids and I checked out the stories online and State department, WOW .. it's indeed tragic. As a guy, this sounds gay but as I was reading stories after stories, I can't help getting emotional. I can't imagine someone can do such a horrific thing to innocent children like this. Sigh .. SAD .. really SAD.
I've seen tons of these types of children when I go to China ): Its so sad!!!! I remember when I went to Shanghai once when I was like 10 and I was scared silly by the kids. Sometimes there would even be an adult to act like their parent. One time I saw a baby with a super oversized head or something. So scaryyyyy!!!
is this what really happens? if it does... wow... i dont see much around here beijing, maybe cus the area i live in, but if this is true... the authorites should do something abt it.... sheesh...
sad and depressing to hear this but I've seen a child who was crawling on all fours pushing a tinbox of money across the floor in Ladies Market, Mongkok, Hong Kong ..... sad thing is, no one wants to know. and when i was in Shenzhen many years ago, i put some money in the tin and my relatives told me not to as people will be onto me >.<
India, China, Egypt, Mexico, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera; old news. It doesn't surprise me anymore, but many others who don't know are shocked when they finally 'discover' that the world they live in is really a fucked up and cruel place. These things have been going on for years and in many different places around the world. The only way this will change is when governments there do something about it, and there's slim hope chance of that. Even Chinese teenagers are kidnapped and then sold to older childless couples in rural China. And more often than not, the police and government administration are part of the gangs that do this. China has so many people that a few kids being purposely maimed and sent out to beg is not even on their political radar. Sad isn't it, that mankind can come to this? And yes, it is depressing, the kinda shit that makes you wanna puke... uke:
i agree with ralphrepo, this has been happening for the longest time in asia. It will not stop anytime soon until their gov. does something
Well .. at least I know it has been around for over 20+ years .. I can understand this type of things happened in the past but nowadays ... wow ..it does surprise and horrify me. For those who's interested about this subject, a friend of mine send me this movie called: Slum Dog Millionaire. It depicts child beggar mutilation. I haven't seen it so I can't see how good or bad it is but I guess it gives you a sense of it. I don't think I can sit through it personally because it's so tragic.
