Woman Who Bared All at Airport Posed for Playboy PHOENIX - The video went viral -- a Phoenix woman who passed through airport security in Oklahoma City wearing nothing but a bra and underwear -- and we've uncovered new information about her past. Tammy Banovac is no stranger to scandal. She first stripped down in the airport, and now her past is exposed. The Dental Examiner's Board revoked her license several years ago because of her involvement in the death of a 7-year-old child. "It wasn't about garnering publicity," says Banovac, who says she's received way more attention than she ever wanted in the past few days. "I certainly didn't want my entire life dredged up." Brewer, Banovac's maiden name, used to be a certified dentist. But she was stripped of her dental license back in 1993 by the state Board of Dental Examiners. Papers show she was "guilty of negligence and gross malpractice." A 7-year-old boy died on Brewer's operating table. The dental board said Brewer did not have the authorization to pull teeth from the 7-year-old, who was born with severe heart complications. "The child's father did not want more than two teeth extracted," according to documents, but Brewer removed nine teeth. She had sedated the child even though his parents and cardiologists advised against it. We asked her about the revocation of her license, and she said, "I wish I could discuss that, because there are things about it, but I signed a confidentiality agreement and none of it can be discussed." A few years later, Banovac agreed to be a part of Playboy magazine's dental girls spread, posing both in the nude and in scrubs. "I was 40 and I thought this is just too good to pass up," she told FOX 10. "I honestly don't care what other people think. If I did perhaps I wouldn't have done this." Banovac says she never would have taken off her clothes at the airport had she known people would be digging up her past. She stands by her claim that she just wanted to get through without being groped or hassled.
IMHO, the TSA is getting used like people who commit suicide by cop. These people are purposely egging on the TSA and then garnering free publicity by it. I had stated this before, but the TSA should charge individuals who video or record the screening process with violating security. Also, if what this woman stated was true, then the person who videoed the process violated her privacy and should be arrested too. We routinely arrest men who shoot cellphone pictures up girl's dresses; this is really no different. On the other hand, I suspect that this was more publicity stunt, and the woman in question had orchestrated the video to be taken in the first place.
She's doing it to sue TSA for excessive whatever. TSA should be sued. If you were to be searched, I believe it should be behind doors.
What I think the TSA should eventually do, is to say to these people who "game" the process, that they would be subject to arrest and prosecution for disruptions of the security process. Further, if people insist on showing up and stripping to their underwear in the hopes that they will get on CNN, then the TSA should have the option to not even process them. Notice I didn't say that they be allowed in; they should simply turn them away until they behave and show up dressed more appropriate for the process. If one misses a flight because they decided that it would be fun to get naked for the TSA, then it was only because of their own stupidity. Again, the process should be shielded from the public. They need to prosecute those that record and video the procedure as a security violation. -noclue
