Subs and Dubs, only if the dubs are good. The Gundam Series along with Inuyasha dubs seem pretty good.
I would go with subs too, most dubs are awful with few exceptions. There is a lot of "artist licence" in play with some dubs too. Usualy on a dub they manage to kill a big part of the persons character with bad selection of voice actor. In saying that tho, gundam was done quite well, one of the few exceptions.
90+% of dub's are american's. I'm not saying its bad accent, but it seems to be the voices are all the same dubs (from the same ppl/what i think) expressionless in thier pitch. Then again some animes u have to watch in DUB. some like doraemon, samurai pizza cats, crayon shin etc... what ever ur into its still anime (just as the meaning is still there and acurate).
raw > all.. but since i only took 2 yr of jap..i still perfer subbed..heh dubbed are just horrible... though some anime if you watched in dubbed version then u go n watch subbed version..you naturally perfer the dubbed version...since it's a part of the mere exposure effect..
Subs most of the time......well nowerdays always although some dubs are ok............grew up watchin DBZ and GT in cantonese
Language allways in japanese with english or german or norwegian text. I think japanese sounds very cool.
So many ppl have asked this and its always going to be subbed for em dubbed just sucks, not enough time goes into picking better voice actors, there just not well thought out (except trigun which was good )
It depends on the series. Some dubs are better than the subs like Full Metal Panic, some dubs are good enough because the japanese language did just as crappy of a dubbing just like Samurai Deeper Kyo (horrible dub and sub) or Elfen Lied (mediocre in dub and subs), then there are the definitely the better subs like Rurouni Kenshin, just because the dub blatantly sucks. It mostly depends on who picked up the US license if the dub will be good or not. Haruhi Dub should be just as good as the subs though, since all the fans got to pick the English voice actors for the series on their site. Cantonese dubs, yeah, they're alright. I've only seen Spirited Away and Totoro dubbed in Cantonese (excluding live action dubs like Death Note movies). So my selection is limited to Miyazaki films, where the dubbing is usually almost perfect. So I can't really comment on these from experience except they're good in Miyazaki movies. From my experience, I find that a lot of people who like subs are people who don't understand Japanese. Hence why they like it, because they can't tell if the Japanese sucks or not.
