Hey guys, I'm currently studying abroad in Hong Kong for this semester, was wondering if there were any suggestions on places for great food and places for me to visit? This is my first time in Hong Kong.
nice, hope you have a nice weather for it tomorrow unlike when i went up there ^^ it was a horror show when i was on the cable car ~ couldnt see due to the fog ^^
mong kok is a good place to visit, shops and food and lots of people the cable car they stopped for so many months due to safety issues but i think its all good now
If you go to the Big Budda, take the cable train. You will regret if you take the bus, since it takes very long to get there. If you have seen the Budda, perhaps it is interesting to also see Tai-O, a fisher village. It is nearby, 10-15 min bus ride.
yeah i heard there was an accident or something and they proper shut it down for a while. its all good, well it was when i went on it yeah the cable cars takes like 15 mins to get to the top from Tung Chung "Ngong Ping 360" but by bus, like 45 mins or so i think, but that was many many years ago ~ and theres like a monastery where theres loads of people lighting huge incense and stuff, just try not to burn the place down as these 2 american born chinese 'i think' did, well they didnt burn it down but they created a huge fireball accidentally using lots of incense closeby which was amusing ~
u can go to the Peak is nice there or go to causeway bay to CEO hahaa to sing k or to the thousend buddhas in Sha tin there ar so many places in hk where u can go
It's an interesting village.. Just be careful not to take any boat trips they have for tourists; Last time I went on one, the dodgy boat nearly screwed up in the middle of the sea.
I'll have to spend some time to find all these places! Only been here for a week and went to a few places, I've been to Mong Kok a few times to check out the markets and went Hiking at Cheng Chau. Lots of malls here.
Oh yea, if you go to Big Budda, there's a massive shpping centre at Dung Chun (dunno how to spell it) when you get off the MTR. Wide range of shops/outlets there.
