Stomach Flu

    What can you eat when you have the stomach flu? I've read that you should avoid dairy products, but what can you eat to avoid getting hungry while also not getting more sick?

    Foods to avoid:Milk and milk products: butter, cheese, ice cream etc.

    Sweetened fruit juices

    Sugar, including honey

    High protein foods: meat, eggs, nuts and seeds

    Fats: especially fried or greasy food

    Any gluten containing grains: wheat, rye, barley and oats

    Artificial sweeteners: mannitol, sorbitol, aspartame and sucralose


    Foods to eat:
    Ripe bananas (mashed)

    Rice bran

    Raw vegetables (high fiber)

    Carrot soup

    Rice and rice cereals

    Toast (plain)

    Acidophilus

    Papaya juice

    Applesauce or grated green apples

    Carrot and cabbage juice

    Also you wanna stay well hydrated. 8 glasses of water or tea a day will help to flush your system

    yep, i drink lots of water n have crackers when i have it... just stay away from cold stuff, fruits n oily food....

    i have juk..congee...it makes me better...and i drink hot water...

    i dunno when i had this...i lost my appetite and didnt really wanna eat anything...mebe coz i didnt wanna throw up again....

    i've heard toast is ok as a starter... and can't be bread, must be toast. And crackers. But stay away obviously as everyone mentioned from milk and oils. Ginger ale is ok too.
