Tuesday, April 29, 2008 Hong Kong Sonija Kwok’s popularity shot up quite a bit due to her TVB series “D.I.E”. The series is credited as her career-saving work. Yesterday, Sonija accepted a phone interview. Sonija spoke from the heart and said: “I want to say that it wasn’t but it appears to be. I was very anxious about the ratings at first. I requested that the producer tell me about the ratings each day. They told me on four separate occasions. The ratings were good and I was happy to hear about it each day.” Sonija revealed that she thanked the executives for their arrangements at the scheduled periodic dinners. She is also very happy that her ability to combat tabloid stories has improved. Now she will be reported in other news instead of tabloid gossips. Sonija revealed there will be a large scale celebration banquet tonight. The male lead Roger Kwok will be handing out a large pile of money. Sonija said: “The dinner bill will be footed by TVB. But Roger and I will be handing out lucky pockets. Everyone pooled a couple of thousands dollars together so everyone will be happy.” Will you hand out more lucky pockets privately? hmmm.somehow to me she's not one of my fav actress..her performance are usually not up to mark..she should thank roger kwok for saving her career as without him this drama would not catapult her back to stardom.
^I totally agree with you. And...I don't see why DIE gets such high ratings. IMHO A Journey Called Life was so so so much better!
I think DIE got high rating because it was light hearted. We haven't seen much investigative series lately, so its a little refreshing.
i kinda liked DIE until the final episode...which just felt like a mockery of the whole drama..but on the other hand, Soniya has never really been one of my fav to watch..she's not bad, it's just that i've never really liked her
personally i thought DIE was only so so, good to watch but nothing special, the ending was ridiculous though. Sonija isnt up there with other actresses but is still good, and i like to see older generation actresses compared to the newer ones.
LOL, i must say i have never hear of sonija kwok until DIE. She did portray good acting skills in the series and i was wondering why she wasn't popular. anyone can provide me some quick recaps? is she the tabloid queen in the past?
lol She was so Cho Lo in this, but apparently shes know as the Wu Lei Jing, who broke up Hao Dai Yu's marriage (by my family) , lol but prob it did bring her up again
You mean Tao Dai Yu? I don't think that's really the reason. That happened some time back. She just doesn't have much appeal...
Im not a big fan of Sonja's acting, but it has improved. I remember her in The Last Breakthrough a couple of years ago and back then her acting was unbearable.
lol she has a 狐狸精相 , its prob the rumours thats brought her even Lower, but she never was a good actor anyway , but she was used pretty often =P
