Former Morning Musume singer Maki Goto, 25, has announced that she is to take an indefinite break from show business from the end of this year. Goto explained in an emotional, hand-written fax sent to media outlets and in an update to her homepage this week, that she had been continuing to work since the accidental death of her mother Tokiko in January of this year, but that she was finding it tough. “The gaping hole in my heart has been open the whole year and has not had time to heal,” she wrote. She added, “Until now, I’ve always been trying to live for someone else, trying to be who other people want me to be.
