In the series, Shirley played a blind author. As a result of her performance, Shirley won the "Best Acting Merit Award" at the 42nd Chicago International TV Festival. Over the last 5 years, Shirley has been the only Asian to win this outstanding award. Shirley has become the pride of Hong Kong. Shirley's character was based on a real life story about a blind author. The hardest aspect in playing the role was to play the character from her school years into older adult maturity. The director, Tom, applauded Shirley's acting in the role and said that he chose the right actress. This is not the first time that Shirley has played a character with a disability. In "Always Ready," she was wheelchair-bound and in "Thousand Lies Various Schemes," Shirley will play a mute. As a result, it helped Shirley in her role in "More Comfortable Women 3," helping Shirley to achieve exciting results! Shirley said that she was excited about her first international award. "This time the judges were all foreigners. They don't understand Chinese, so they based their judgement on the visuals only.
