After leaving TVB last May, Shirley Yeung (楊思琦) took her time to carefully consider the future path of her career. After hosting television programs for Hong Kong’s i-Cable station and working in Mainland China, Shirley announced that she will increase her reach to the Malaysian market.

Along with Philip Ng (伍允龍), Jessica C., and Ana R., Shirley attended the Asia launch press conference for the new management agency, OC Merit Entertainment. Based in Malaysia, OC Merit Entertainment strives to be the premier entertainment hub for Malaysians and many Chinese-speakers around the globe.

Despite signing with OC Merit Entertainment, who will manage her entertainment career in Malaysia, Shirley said she will not give up on the Hong Kong and China markets, as she will manage her own jobs in both regions.

On why she decided to expand her career to Malaysia, Shirley said she wanted to try out acting in Malaysian dramas. Wanting to change her image, Shirley said, “I don’t think being sexy or revealing works for me anymore,” she added.

    Leaves Daughter Behind

Leaving Hong Kong for work, Shirley misses her three-year-old daughter, Krystal Yeung. “My mother told me that my daughter hit her head on the corner of the table, and now it’s swollen. I need to make a video call to see what’s going on.”
