Argh. I just went to order 'One Litre of Tears' (Aya Kitou's Diary) from Amazon Japan, as that's the only place I can find it in English, and the book itself only costs £6, but the book would cost £18 to ship over, so in total £24 for a book!
I've had far heavier + more things in one shipping from Japan, which cost far far less! It's disgusting

Anyone else get disgusting shipping costs?

yeh mostly to do with ebay sellers selling goods at a cheap price and then ripping you off with the shipping.....

Maybe you can ask a book shop to import it for you?

Could be a good idea, although it would probably end up costing the same? hmm

yeah I had thought about printing it out.... but, it's not as easy to hold and take places with you as a book!

Oh , I meant the book :p... unless you can do that with books ¬_¬ hehe

    Your right :(

I have bought something from yesasia and they do rip you off badly not just on the shipping but also on the item itself.

Anyways you might want to watch out for HMRC Duty-Tax, this is if you buy something from abroad, You will have to pay tax.

But at yesasia, if you buy over a certain amount, shipping is free! At least it is for people in north america.
But Duty fees are definitely a huge problem.
I bought an MP3 player from the states and Duty was 13 dollars!!!

Well A percentage of the total cost is added as tax which is really crazy

I remember buying something from the HK and duty tax was really crazy @ £27 for buying something £200

The shipping costs go to the middle person(s). Generally, be glad that there is someone willing to do this kind of service....

yea....shipping is really an hassle but sometimes, if you really want it, you have to pay for it unless you could find it somewhere else...
