Friday February 22, 2008 Hong Kong The premiere of Playboy Cops <花花型警> was held yesterday evening at Olympian City and was attended by director Jingle Ma (馬楚成) and cast members including Shawn Yue (余文樂), Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), Chen Kun (陳坤), Shaun Tam (譚俊彥) and Wong You Nam (黃又南). On the eve of Chinese Valentine's Day, the stars were asked to describe their ideal lover. Chen Kun suggested that his perfect girl would be like Linda and suggested that Shawn's choice would be the same. Linda said she would like someone who had a mixture of the guys' good points. Shawn was asked to comment on the recent sex photos scandal surrounding Edison Chen (陳冠希) and Edison's decision to pull out of showbiz. However, Shawn said that he did not want to say anything, because he had been warned specifically by his company not to get involved. Shawn did say that it was good for Edison to face up to the situation, but did not want to comment on the sincerity of Edison's apology. Asked if he thought that the scandal was a waste of police time and resources, Shawn said that he believed the police action was in the interests of the public and hoped that it would bring the incident to an end. This year, Shawn has taken on three film projects and will also be taking part in the Cannes Film Festival in May. Asked if he felt that there was less competition now that Edison is out of the picture, Shawn said that their affairs are unrelated and told the reporters not to link everything to the scandal. As for the rumours of marriage plans between Juno Mak (麥浚龍) and Gillian Chung (鍾欣桐), Shawn said that he felt the reports were made-up, and added that, because it was nothing to do with him, he did not care to comment too much about it. Linda commented that she had been following the news about Edison and that she felt it was good of him to face up to the matter. She added that it would maybe benefit him to take some time away and let the situation die down. Asked if she would forgive Edison if she were one of the female victims, Linda said that she would not. She concluded that it had been a lesson learned by all artistes to be more careful with their photos. Shaun plays the villain in the film and was supported by his parents, veteran actors Ti Lung (狄龍) and Amy Tao (陶敏明), at the screening. Because he is close friends with Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒), he was asked about the suggestion that there was an impending divorce between Nicholas and Cecilia Cheung (張栢芝), who had been implicated in the sex photos scandal. Shaun said that Nicholas and Cecilia still appear to be a close couple and have not been affected by the incident, playing computer games together every night. He said that, although he has not seen them in person for a while, he has been in contact. He insisted that there are no problems with the marriage. Ti Lung was asked how he felt about Edison's decision to leave showbiz. He said that as long as Edison is truly sorry for his actions, there would be forgiveness. He added that youth is on Edison's side and the incident will be forgotten in three or five years time. Both Ti Lung and Amy said that they were very sad to hear about the death of Lydia Sum (沈殿霞) this week, especially because Lydia was a bridesmaid at their wedding. Amy said that she was only 19 years old when she got married and was inspired to ask Lydia to be her bridesmaid after watching the late entertainer on Enjoy Yourself Tonight <歡樂今宵>.
