i recently bought a new pc here the spec

    Asus P5N-D 750 SLi
    650 PSU
    Quad Q9550
    4GB Ram
    9800GTX+

and for some reason my headset is not loud enough at all, they are Sennheiser PC151 they new too lol i got all the settings output to max i also tried my brother's logitech one and some other cheap one around the house same results just not loud enough, any got any solution to pump up the volume?

i done some research and some ppl sed that my motherboard doesnt have enough power to power up my headset to its full volume, is that true by any chance??? they recommend me to get a sound card that MIGHT solve my problem

  2. yor not powering up your headset, MoBos do a crap job at it which is why PC's love speakers with their own power supply.

You need to buy a power supply device for your headset, Sennheiser151's are known for requiring a whole lot of juice.

now feel sorry for the nubs who bought similar headphones for their little ipods.

how your headphones have a nominal impedance of 32 Ohm, not to bad tbh, the ones i was gona get was 150 Ohm -shock till i realised that i would have to deal wth other hassles to power the thing so i gave up on that.

Because the internal amp from the sound processing unit on the motherboard is not able to handle that much power. A sound card should do the trick, my HD580 runs fine off the sound card but a headphone amp would be more of a definite fix.
