After leaving TVB in 2018, it was revealed that Selena Lee has recently signed a contract with the broadcaster's sister company Shaw Brothers.

As reported on On CC, the actress who will be returning to Hong Kong television with "Barrack O'Karma 2", dismissed the idea that she is back because of an unsuccessful attempt to venture elsewhere, saying that she still has the freedom to do other projects while filming as part of Shaw Brothers.

"I accepted "Barrack O'Karma 2" as part of a per series contract. I can still do other projects. I just accepted the drama because I like it and that other people want me to do it too," she said.

Selena revealed that she will also be filming her Canadian project in August, but that it will wait until "Barrack O'Karma 2" wraps up.

As to why she decided to sign with Shaw Brothers, Selena stated that she trusted its executive Virginia Lok, who has experience managing matters in TVB in the past.

"I believe letting them manage my work in Hong Kong would make it easier for me. Shaw will handle all my work in Hong Kong and South-East Asia," she stated.
