based on reviews, the HTC One is one of the best Android phones so far this year. The S4 have no reviews yet.

    HTC One
    Pro: build quality, excellent display
Con: battery life, no expandable storage

    Samsung Galaxy S4
Pro: expandable battery life, changeable battery, faster CPU (depending on location, might be Exynos or Qualcomm)
Con: plastic body, not much design change over S3

Software wise, it's your personal preference if you want HTC Sense or Samsung TouchWiz or can always replace the home launcher. HTC One comes with Android 4.1.x and Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with 4.2.x out of the box but there isn't too much difference over those 2 version of Android. The camera, hard to say which provides better quality since HTC One 4.1 "ultrapixel" is just average from reviews at this moment but not sure when compared to Samsung's 13 "megapixels" camera. I would think it should be about the same quality in day light image.

    You're a fucking idiot.

  4. I would wait for the next Nexus if possible. The S4 in my opinion have too many unnecessary software gimmicks.

I have to say I am impressed with the HTC One design and materials used. Also, having had a play with it the new sense is pretty good. However, I think out of both you won't go far wrong. HTC seems to be more durable for daily usage. Samsung prob has the better processor. So it really depends on your preferences and the cost that you will have to pay to get it.
