Where do you think sadness comes from?
Some people say that it is a Social construction. Its all in our head, we create whatever feelings and emotions there are in teh world.

    what do you think?

well of course some people say this world is all in your head. when u think about it a black cat is only black because ur eyes tell ur brain it is. what if u and half the world had ur wires crossed and saw a diff colour when ever u looked at black. u saw green each time and wachaaa saw red. would make for a very confusing world. actually how DO u know that the black u see is the black others see. maybe ur perception of a "dark shade" is reversed and when someone says its a dark black. u see dark black, they see dark black...but ur black is what u see as black and there black is what u see as white while there black is white and there white is black... damn this is hard to explain i need flash cards :wtf:

In short sadness is caused by a fear of some sort...due to a misunderstanding of your personaility...since you misunderstood your personaility, you would think you are right...and you would control others to satisfy yourself...If you never fix up that personaility you would not fix up that sadness...because everything in the world is fixed...when someone pisses you off, you would get mad...but that madness is uselesss because it's fixed...the only thing you can do is try to not be too sensitive...and not act mad...by doing that you would slowly but surely see ppl being nice to you...because it would become a "fact" to you...it'll be natural to you...you would live life better...and be more happy overall...again acceptance...if you do accept everything you would be eligible to touch your personaility to the soul...and be God-like...that power within you is greater than anything else life can provide you

sadness is a part of us. w/o sadness there wouldn't be a balance of life.

sadness comes from a place far, far away. where one feels as though all hope and life have been silenced. fear is the afterlife of sadness.

    Sadness comes from Happiness
If you don't know what "Sadness" is than you wouldn't know what "Happiness" is...
You would need something to happen in order to define the opposite...

That's why I never understand true happiness in Heaven... b/c how would you know what truely happiness is when you never felt the hate, sorrow, grief...

Perhaps, but most believe that it's the overall balance of catecholamines (including dopamine), along with serotonin, that mediates negative moods such as sadness or depression.

    sadness comes from your feelings...
your feelings are telling you what you like and dislike..
if you dislike it.. you sometimes will feel sad...
    all up in your mind

  15. It's comes from the mind---
I guess what everyone has said so far is true ^ ^
and yeah a frown is just a an upside down smile---
and being happy is as easy as smiling itself it's just most of the time
we choose not be happy (For many reasons I do not know of) it's only normal human nature to feel that way. and yeah being sad and depressed all the time will only lead us to one thing--- and that thing is that we'll only end up cheating ourselves from living in the present.

i may be wrong, but when seritonin doesnt bind to receptor it causes depression and not sadness? forgot...remember a bit from year 1 psych, but that was like 2 years ago and i study last minute so im not good at remembering things. my bad if im wrong.

but i do agree with that person up top that said happiness had some influence of feeling sad. u wouldnt know what sadness is if u didnt experience happiiness and vice versa.

Sadness is the negative incentive to want and need.
When want and need is not fulfilled, you feel sad. The name is a social construct, but the feeling is not. It is just a mean to make sure you make yourself happy by satisfying all your needs and wants and in turn betters your survival.

sadness comes from a lost soul. one who has wander off too far from his path.
