Yesterday Angela Tong was slapped in Wan Chai. She went to work at TVB like normal and filmed scenes for “Family Link 2”. The reason behind her attack has spawned a lot of rumours. Some say that there was a HK$2000 bet. The bet was to see if anyone could slap Angela. When Angela heard that rumour, she said: “Don’t play like that. It’s not right to hit people. I don’t understand why people would do that.” Yesterday, the suspect was released on bail after being arrested. He has to report to the police station on February 4th. A lot of people in the entertainment circle are sympathetic towards Angela. They believe that she was innocent in this unfortunate attack. Only “Plastic Surgery Trio” Freeze has a conspiracy theory. Angela reiterated that she was a victim. She felt she needed to make clear that she was feuding with anyone. Last night around six o’clock, Angela left home alone and went to her assistant’s home before going to TVB. She didn’t have any added protection after of her attack. But when the media followed her by car, she became calm. She retold her story on the show “Scoop”. She was still somewhat emotional but made clear that she was slapped only once and not three times like widely reported. After her interview on “Scoop”, she accepted another interview and expressed that her parents were also concerned. Her father wanted to stay with her in Hong Kong. She doesn’t feel that she needs her dad to come stay with her yet. There is a rumour that someone placed a HK$2000 bet to slap her. Angela said: “Don’t play like that. It’s wrong to hit people. I hope that outsiders wouldn’t make all those assumptions.” There were some people that assumed it was related to romantic disputes. Angela said no a couple of times and stressed that she didn’t offend anyone. She was a victim and said that she was innocent. But a lot of people think that she offended someone and brought it on herself. Freeze said that she snubbed someone and that is why she got slapped. Angela said: “I’ve never saw them before and don’t understand why they thought that was the case. I don’t want people to misunderstand.” Angela expressed that after she was slapped, she didn’t incur any other bodily harm. She said she have never been slapped that hard before. She was scared and had a headache for a day. She said: “I want to know why I was slapped. When it happened, I attempted to take pictures of the suspect but my hand was shaking and couldn’t take any pictures. I only remember crying at the scene and asking why he slapped me.” Yesterday, Angela had a medical examination, went to 大球場 to be a MC, and then filmed some more scenes.
