Car enthusiast, Ruco Chan (陳展鵬), has officially joined an auto racing team. Sporting a pair of sunglasses and yellow racing gear, he appeared in Kowloon City for the Hong Kong Aviation Club’s Greater China Cup autograph ceremony. The 37-year-old TVB actor will later head to Malaysia to participate in an international competition. The event organizers arranged to have Ruco board a helicopter and enjoy a bird’s eye view of Hong Kong. Ruco expressed excitedly, “I never boarded this type of helicopter before. The weather was very nice today, and I went over Discovery Bay and Peng Chau for the first time. We also saw the entire Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island. It was very fun!” The executive of the Lotus racing team that Ruco joined praised him for exhibiting a healthy and fit image. He has confidence that Ruco will be able to attract female audiences to pay attention to upcoming auto racing events. Ruco revealed he has already trained for a month in Guangzhou and even obtained his racing license. The international competition in Malaysia will take place on August 15. Although Ruco did not reveal how much money he earned from signing the contract with the team, he shared that the team bought him a seven-digit sum worth of insurance. Speaking of possible accidents, Ruco expressed, “I have a professional instructor, but sometimes I find it hard to control my turns. Racecars are actually not that dangerous as long as you have basic knowledge on the field and follow the rules.” Creds: Oncc
