Director Roy Chow (周顯揚) is prepared to re-introduce Wong Fei Hung’s legend to a new generation. His latest film Rise of the Legend <黃飛鴻之英雄有夢>, which stars Taiwanese actor Eddie Peng (彭于晏) as a young Wong Fei Hung, released its first exciting trailer. The cast held a press conference in Beijing on August 10 to commemorate the trailer’s premiere. The film takes the audience back in time to a much younger Wong Fei Hung, before he became the legendary martial artist. At the mention of the film’s Chinese title, A Hero Has Dreams, Eddie said, “Wong Fei Hung is a hero, but I don’t think only heroes have dreams. Whether these dreams are big or small, everyone sitting here today should have their own dreams.” He then added jokingly, “Just like how women always dream about losing ten pounds every year.” When discussing about Wong Fei Hung’s own dream, Eddie said Wong Fei Hung is a selfless hero, “His dream belongs to everyone. He has to sacrifice his romance, friendship, and even his own life in order to possess this dream, and that is for the world to have hope, to hope that this world is a world with bright futures.” Rise of the Legend, which will be heading to theaters in November 2014, also stars Angelababy (楊穎), Wang Luodan (王珞丹), Jing Boran (井柏然), Max Zhang (張晉), and Sammo Hung (洪金寶) in a special appearance.
