    one of the most amazing things from this speech was his idea of the insignificance of matter.

    Its true... why ARE we so consumed with matter? Considering all the things that exist without matter... light, radio, microwaves. What is to say that we aren't composed of more then just matter. Perhaps the soul is something akin to light?

    although, in this case, one might have to acknowledge that something like light is most likely not self-aware. In which case, a soul in existence without a body would be akin to oblivion regardless of how you look at it. Even if a portion of you continued to exist as some form of ethereal energy, life would not be anything similar to life associated with a material body.

    really makes you wonder about death. Although, if you truly believe in god, this wont matter. You're either going to heaven or hell, no need to think too much.
