Well it really depends coz , malaysian have 3 major culture and few minor ones. Each culture could have different answers and so is each states.

Same like UK , the people in the food, clothing, school in london is not the same as leeds rite ?

Hmm...this is like essay writing, lol.

    1. There are different ethnic groups in M'sia, each have their own special dishes. I don't know whether it's considered a 'traditional dish', but it's pretty much associated with each ethnic group. The Malay community have a dish called Nasi Lemak, which is basically rice cooked in coconut milk. It is usually eaten with chicken, beef or mutton 'rendang' (meat cooked in coconut milk and spices). The Indians have the roti canai (flattened bread). As for drinks, I think a typically famous Malaysian drink would be teh tarik. It's actually just milk tea, but the preparation is different, making the tea smoother than the normal milk tea.

    2. The common traditional costume for Malays are the baju kurung and baju kebaya. For the males, it is the baju melayu and songkok (a kind of headgear, looks a little like the skullcap) . I Indians wear sarees. I think they wear the same traditional clothings I mentioned above for special occasions, but the only difference would be in the kind of material they use to make the clothes. But I might be wrong...

    3. How do I describe what school is like?? Every kid is SUPPOSED to go to school. I think most Malaysian children complete their primary education. Some drop out after that. Travelling depends on which area you belong to. In the rural areas, some use bicycles. In the really really rural areas like in Sabah (Borneo) and Sarawak, some travel on sampans and rafts to get across the river before walking to school. But most students in the urban areas take the bus, or their parents will drop them off by motorbike or car. School is from Monday to Friday, time varies. School probably starts at 7.30am, ends at 1.30pm. Compulsory subjects include Malay language, English, Mathematics, History, Geograpy, Science. In upper secondary, students can choose to branch out into the science or arts stream, and subjects depend on the student's choice. There are an average of 35 students per class in urban schools, in rural schools probably fewer...20-25?

    Hope this helps...

    1) Food and drink
    - is there a traditional dish for malaysia?
    - What type of food do people eat and drink?

different race has got its very own traditional dish. but the wellknown ones would be nasi lemak, fried kuey tiao, roti canai. the type of food that most msians eat would be oily. honestly, most food in msia, esp yummy and rich in gravy ones are really very fattening. for drinks i think it depends also...most malays would prefer teh tarik, chinese for chinese tea.

    2) Dress
    - are there any traditional clothing/ costumes?
    - are there any clothing worn for religious reasons?
    - What is fashionable at the moment?
    - What would a typical man/woman/boy/girl wear?

the official traditional costume for malaysia would be baju kurung for girls and baju melayu for guys. but for different race of course there would be different traditional costumes. for the chinese of course would be cheongsam for girls and the guys(i forgot what is the clothing called). for indians would be sarees for girls and guys(once again..i forgot what it's called XD)

baju kurung is oiginally designed to not have any parts of the body being exposed and tudung for the malay girls to cover up their 'aurat' (note:aurat is a malay word for body). baju melayu for guys are normally equiped with songkok and kain sampin. a hard over shaped like 'cap' to put on the head. but as generation changes, most of them are w/o tudungs and songkoks..even the kain sampins(used as something like a 'skirt')are not worn together with the baju melayu.. another type of traditional costume for malay girls would be baju kebaya. somehow similar to baju kurung but with buttons in the middle. i normally do prefer to wear baju kebaya during those celebrations in my school where i were required to wear traditional costume of another race.

what is fashionable at the mo...this one i really couldn't tell you because there are obviously alot of different cliques of styles available.

normally, a typical man and woman would dress up with jeans and t-shirt..for woman would be more of jeans and a lil bit of dressy top.

    3) School
    - Whats it like?
    - Do all children go to school?
    - How do they travel to school?
    - What times/days do children go to school?
    - What lessons take place in school?
    - How many children are in a clasS?

school..for mine i think it's the normal school. minus out the gang fights and catfights coz all of us do click well together.
all childrens are required to go to school. it's a mandatory.
travel to school either by school bus, public bus, private car, cabs, lrts(like mrts/trains)
the normal core subjects would be malay language, english language, maths, science, history, moral studies, arts
tht's for lower secondary. when it's upper secondary core subjects of science will become elective in the science stream(biology/physics/chemistry instead of sc). but for arts, science is still a core subject.

for normal government school, it is of max 35 students in one class. the least student in my year of class was around 15 if i'm not mistaken. so i do not know where or not there's a minimum number of students in a class.
for independent schools, from my friends tht i asked it would be sometimes up to 70. but most of the time it would be at about 40-50.

rural areas would be at about less than 25 per class...some really rural areas have only one class of students.

most school would be from 730-110. for two session would be 730-105 and 120 or so to 645. for independent schools, some might be from 8 to 3. schools are from monday to friday and some school might opt for extra curricular actitivites on sat or after schooling hours. for some states in msia, like kelantan and terengganu, schooling days will be from tuesday to sat as their weekends are of sun and monday.
