Raymond Lam Recruiting Kate Tsui and Tavia Yeung?

Now that Raymond Lam’s (林峯) contract with TVB is nearing the end, rumors are rife that he will not be renewing his contract. Instead, he already made plans to invest in a management company that will be involved in television shows, movies and promotions. There were also allegations that he intends to sign former co-stars, Kate Tsui (徐子珊) and Tavia Yeung (楊怡), under his wing.

Despite being a favorite in TVB, Raymond started to grow despondent after losing the TV King title to Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) in 2012. With his contract expiring in April, Raymond already gave hints that he would not be renewing his contract. There were speculations that he would be joining his girlfriend, Karena Ng (吳千語) at Raymond Wong’s (黃百鳴) Pegasus Entertainment while there are others who believed he would join Paco’s Sun Entertainment instead.

According to a reliable source, Raymond will be starting his own management company instead. Asked earlier about this, Raymond denied the claims, saying that a business venture takes too much work.

On the surface, Raymond continued to be obedient to TVB, while accepting outside jobs. Earlier, he filmed for now TV’s The Virtuous Queen of Han <大漢賢后衛子夫> and guest-starring in Raymond Wong’s Lunar New Year movie, Hello Babies <六福喜事>. As his vacations with Karena snagged headlines, Raymond came across as prioritizing love ahead of his career.

Underneath the easygoing façade, Raymond allegedly has been slowly and carefully planning his exit from TVB. Friends divulged that Raymond has shared that he wants to venture out on his own for a few years, before he quitting show business to help his father manage the family business. With his own savings and his father’s backing, Raymond has already secretly set up his own company in Mainland China, where he has already built up a reputation. It is alleged that his first production will start work at the end of the year and it will be a romance television series co-starring Chrissie Chau (周秀娜).

Raymond’s long-standing manager, Candy, may follow him over to his company. Raymond also has eyes to bring Kate Tsui and Tavia Yeung onboard as well.
