I tried this weird thing last night i tried to eat a meal made solely of veggies last night I had mashed squash (like mashed potatoes) steamed peas, corn salad roasted mushrooms so didn't work although full by the end, i didn't feel satisfied the funny thing is i didn't need to eat meat to make me satisfied i needed carbs i had some cereal and i was fine although i lke meat, i COULD go vegetarian (but i'm not saying i am, i dont have some kind of moral need to) but i could NEVER go atkins i think asians and italians will have such a HORRIBLE time if they ever tried to go atkins
I never can understand Atkins. I go vegetarian (just on principle that I can stand the temptation of meat dishes) but the thought of kidney failure is too horrifying that I will not even attempt Atkins.
atkins=eating all meat diet. Mainly to cut-off all carbs. too much carbs w/o burning it off = build up of fat.
but meat contain fats too right? isnt that more direct? haha.. I just eat what I like in moderation... too much of anything is no good. For me, best is to eat a little of everything.
i think it really depends on what type of meat you eat. EX...fish and chicken isn't fatty. Plus meat is easier broke down by ur body.
Hm, Atkins target the "sugar" in a diet -- since carbs are LOOONG chains of sugar, it will convert to A LOT OF energy, which if it is unused, will be stored as fat. On the other hand protein is, well, protein. Even with the fat in meat, long as you don't use excessive oil and seasoning, meat contains less total energy (NOTE: it's not to say meat is less fat than carbs, since the two get stored as fat via different mechanisms) But try not to practice Atkins too much, it warrants kidney failure with meat-only meals.
atkins you can eat all the fat and oil you want as long as you dont eat any carbs the reason why is some kind of chemical process of digestion requires the presence of carbs in order for fat to be stored away instead of immediatly being used so atkins is a sole fruits, veggies, and meat diet
No, Atkins work because it causes a starvation ketotic state. By depriving one's body of carbs, your body will metabolize fat and make ketones to use it as energy instead of converting carbs to glucose.
All stereotypes aside, I think a majority of women will prefer a vegetarian diet over a protein diet, as opposed to men who will probably prefer a protein over a vegetarian diet based on the usual gender preferences. I personally prefer Atkins over Vegetarianism anyday....
I guess.. women requite less protein to survive day to day life than men -- plus, we don't want to get the muscle bulge
hmm, well with all the asians i have talked to, both male and female all would rather be a veggie than an atkins
If I had to choose, think i'll rather be veggie cos it sounds more healthier from what ive heard my friends say but dont think I could ever be a veggie because I love eating meat
Hehe, that's why women are the fairer sex with the more aesthetic body compared to the functional male body.
Overall, everything in moderation is the best choice. A balanced meal of both vegetables and protein. However if you want to loose a lot of weight in a short period of time, you could try Atkins for <1mo. That will minimize your risk of kidney damage. The majority of people who sustained renal injury are those who stayed on the diet for long periods of time. Oh, and don't forget to exercise...that will increase your metabolism & help burn off more fat.
