How do you watch movies on your pocket pc?

Back when i had my E740 i shrank my movies down to a 512 MB WMV file taht would hog up half of my 1gig memory card.. but when i play it on the Pockket PC its sooooo SLow!!!

is it just the E740 has a bad video processor?
I sold it anyways.. i might get a new one with a better video processor.. or even a used Vaio laptop.. the old skool tiny ones

now we're talking here....now..i find the best way to get movies to a pocket pc is to encode it with windows media encoder 9 or there are a few other good encoders out there. Windows media encoder allows you to format videos to specifically fit on your pocket. However, if you are encoding dvd rips, you want to encode it with a specific player, i'll get the name of the encoder for you later as i can't rmbr it now.... Once you encode it with that special encoder, you'll want to use a video player for your pocket pc called "beta player" or you can use pocket media player. I find beta palyer does a better job and you get a bigger screen and better quality than using pocket windows media player. Also, there reason is that the video is slow, it could be because it hasn't been encoded properly to fit on a pocket pc screen, how did you "shrink" the movies to put them on you pda? Did you use and encoder, if so, which one? Or did you just use active sysn to transfer it to your pc, or did you put it on a sd card via a usb adapter? Also, video porcessor doesn't matter when it comes to pocket pc, they don't really have one. The only one that has a dedicated video processor, this is what makes it so unique is one of the dell x50 models, i believe the high end model run for about 600 plus taxes. I beliveve it is among a limited few, as in say 3, that have a dedicated video card. I currently have a dell axim x30h with a 624mhz processor, which as among the top 3-4 pdas that have that speed today, as right now nothing is faster than the 624mhz chip, and it works flawlessly for watching movies and it gives me excellent speed when using it with emulators to play snes games or gameboy advance games. So, it really depends on the encoder you are using and also the video player you are using on yuor pocket pc. I'll post the name of the other encoder here later as i can't rmbr the name, but windows media encoder 9 works well too. Also, there is the issue of what format the video is in that you want to play on your pocket pc. Windows media encoder wiill convert them into .wmv extension to be watched with pocket media player. There is also beta player which will play avi and other extensions, also pocket divx etc. Those are the good pocket video players that i listed. I put a list of other pocket media players later. HOpe this helps.

pocket divx...that was the name of the app used to encode videos for playing on pdas...does a damn good job and its free....you'll want to use betaplayer to veiw movies on your device. Also, for the wireless, if you have one implemented in your house, there is streaming. I use win media encoder to stream music and movies to my pda. An alternative to encoding that is.
