Okay my defintion of schizophrenia is when a person experiences hallucinations, disorganized thinking, and hearing things that other people can not hear. Pretty much a delusional person who is hearing and seeing things. This affects their speech and basically the way they think. A schizophrenia patient can ramble on about something and he/she will make absolutely no sense to a normal person. Doctors diagnose the patient by screening them and having them take a test call the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) which consist of 567 multiple choice questions. D.I.D??? you mean Multiple personality disorder or Diassociative Identity disorder. This disorder occurs when a person has two or more personalities that take control of the person's behavior. People often times get D.I.D and Schizophrenia mixed up. Disassociation occurs when a person breaks away from reality, while part of them is still connected to reality. This then creates two personalities. Im not sure why your teacher doesnt want you to use online sources because its prettty much the same as what I would tell you. Since you only want the definition, I'm not going into the details. There is so much more such as the symptoms, diagnosis, prognosis and causes. Hope this helps.
