first year at a jc Eng 201 A: start off slow work my way up or Eng 1 A: get into the hard stuff and finish fast Man i really want Eng 1 A but i cant get in it because my assessment wasnt high enough 80 for reading and 25 for writing x.x which one would you guys suggest taking?
well... if u can't get into 1A i don't see much u can do about it... to be honest, I enjoyed my 1A class... hell I enjoyed all my English classes... so much freedom involved... its not hard unless u really have a hard time reading and need concrete answers like in Math... here's my favorite passage from a book... this was from a 1B class I took, we spent about 2 sessions discussing it... it was honestly a lot of fun for me because everyone had different opinions... if u enjoy stuff like that 1A isn't going to be hard at all because that's the kind of stuff I did in all my English classes 1A,1B and 2... http://people.hsc.edu/students/morgand/lit/Kafka.htm
If you're not recommended for that level, I wouldn't take it (looking at it from friend's experience). If you find a class is too hard and you end up dropping, could look bad on your transcript or even worse, hurt your GPA. If this is your first year, I'd recommend talking to your counselor and see what you can do ^^
Couldn't agree more. If you rush through and get out but your cgpa look horrible, I really don't see the point
Take the Eng 201 and work your way up. Knowing how to write correctly will pay for itself in the long run.
on the flip side, I don't see how taking the easiest classes and getting A's in them will help either... sure u'll graduate with honors, but u spent more time and money on it... on the other hand, the guy that left early got a year or 2 of experience in the workfield on you + spent the money he saved getting certified... experience pays... not a piece of paper with gold borders... i understand that u should never get ahead of urself and take the hardest classes immediately... but don't deliberatly take the easy classes, get the easy A's, waste time and money...
