Just saw it on Blu-ray, it's quite good. The story and characters are not even worth mentioning but the robots vs kaiju fights are really cool. Special effects are good but all the fights take place in the dark, so visually it could have been better.
Modern adaptation of the Godzilla genre, with exceptionally stunning CGI; storyline was, ...meh. But I noticed that Hollywood is still averse to reversing the stereotype racial genders. That is, we don't see a male Asian lead pairing off with a female Caucasian, but it's perfectly OK for the Caucasian male to share the stage with a female Asian. We've come so far but yet continue to spin our wheels. At any rate, the movie is a nice, mindless time waster.
