Gym membership is relatively cheap these days but I gotta cancel my membership anyway.

Cheap gyms are real dirty in the locker rooms. The machines are poorly kept. Most importantly, gas is so expensive these days that make the trip to the gym so not worth it. Now, I just exercise at home and run around the block. It's $4.5/gal .. crazy.

If ya'll have effective home exercise to share, then plz do so. I'd like to try them so not to be bore by the old ones...lol

    Paralettes and Gymnastic Rings

These are the most useful things in my home gym. You can pretty much work every muscle group, except for legs... (Legs are so hard to work at home anyways unless you have a squat rack).

Seriously though, gymnastic rings are king. They make simple things like dips so much harder because the rings move around, making your stabilizer muscles fire like crazy and requires tension in your entire body.

are you for real? yeah .. where i am going to get that or put it in the house ... come on man .. be more realistic.

PS90X is not realistic as well.

what i am searching for is short and effective "routine" .. short means no more than 30 min/day.

    Calisthenics at home.

    Fix up a diet.

    Run around your neighborhood.

Gym's not required unless you really need it.

    you get them from www.ringtraining.com

Here's a video of me using them in my basement.

I agree with Tony, Calisthenics is one of the best and easiest ways to work out. And although I hate P90X, if you're saying that's unrealistic, I really don't know what you expect to get out of this "home workout" of yours. P90X requires basically no equipment, just a pull up bar u can get anywhere and put on any door frame.

    Hi,

WE actually join the gym for makin our body look cool, after joining the the gym our body gets the shape that we desired by the problem arises when we leave the gym, out skin starts loosing the shining and become loose, which will give us a very bad look. So if you join gym make sure that you do that excersis the life long.

P90X is not realistic for me because I have to follow the routines on tv or com ..

I am thinking about giving the ring a try .. seem like fun and new .. i gotta figure a place hang it though... my ceiling is 14 ft high and i don't wanna kill myself coming down.

Are you going into personal trainer route something? Seem like you're really into it.

Fair enough, I personally hate P90X, Insanity, all those programs.
I just graduated from engineering actually, but fitness has always been a passion of mine. I'm thinking of taking a few courses on the side and maybe getting a personal trainer certificate. Even if I don't have clients, it will make my training better.

Yeah, finding where to hang rings can be tricky, but if you have a basement, you can pretty much hang them from any of the rafters. Worst case scenario is you can get a secure pullup bar, like really secure, and hang the rings off that.

I am still figuring that out .. no basement here. The garage is full of stuff and cars so no space. Anyway, see if I can make it work first.

Right now, I am putting together routine so that I can commit to for the next four weeks.

As for being a personal trainer, I am sure you will get clients if you work for some sort of health club; not to mention your enthusiasm about fitness. Just don't make it your full-time job per se cuz that would be a waste to your engineering degree. It's not bad to have a side job and extra income.

I thought about taking certifications to become a fitness trainer but there's sooooo much to read up too not just guiding people on exercise. There's a lot to study and learn on nutrition.

The p90x and insanity stuff is okay but you can't really pick it up if you're completely out of shape and don't move. A lot of people will not be able to keep up and they have to start really low and very little to build up. Most people don't have the desire or will power to grind through all that time and growing process. They're not bad exercise routines either.

I personally rather just lift at the gym, fill rest time with some quick 3-5minute HIIT on the treadmill and go back to lifting and repeat few times.

^ hitting gym means $$ and driving means more $$$$$$$$ .. not to mention I gotta wait for the machines and weighs so my actual workout is only about 1 hour yet spent 2 hours at the gym. i used to like working out alone when i HAD my 6-pac ab cuz ppl around me was not so dedicated .. but after having a family, everything just seems to be so tiring. even friends don't like to hang out much these days. hitting the gym now doesn't benefit me much nowadays unlike ya'll young folks cuz that momentum/fire is out sorta speak for me .. sighhh
