Niki Chow (周麗淇) has spent a month in Hengdian, filming for CCTV production Book And Sword <書劍恩仇錄>. This is her first time filming in the mainland, but she is now used to the pace and lifestyle there. Each day starts early for Niki as she heads for the studios with the crew and she has been rehearsing hard for the action scenes in the series. She smiled that fortunately she followed the advice of her mother when she was younger and took lessons in Chinese dance, so this has helped with her martial arts scenes. It has been hard work for Niki filming in the forests and suffering from cuts and bruises from wires and fighting scenes. She added that the crew have also been very helpful and instructive to help the shoots run smoothly and she is finding it much easier now. Niki also expressed her compliments for her male co-star Qiao Zhen Yu (喬振宇). She said: "This is the first time I have worked with him and have found him to be very professional. His martial arts background is impressive and picks up the actions so easily. He also looks after all the other cast members and is very courteous." Niki's other co-stars in the show include Hong Kong film veterans Yuen Chau (元秋) and Wong Yut Fei (黃一飛). She said that she was extremely happy to work with such experienced actors that she has watched since she was a child. After spending a month with them, she felt that they were like her family away from home. Niki made a trip back to Hong Kong last week to take part in a charity event for CRHK and she laughed that many of her colleagues had asked her to bring back items from home, including their favourite foods and even the latest computer games! She revealed that some people were not used to the spicy food in Northern China, so they asked her to buy some instant noodles and snacks. Credits:batgwa
