hey guys, I have to give a speech next week about some controversal issue. Just want to see if you guys can suggest a good topic. Example like... foregin car vs. american car... or anything.. (that is appropriate of course). thanks
Stem cells are pretty controversial right now. Its recently been discovered they can cure Type 1 diabetes, and the US senate has recently approved a bill to allow more funding for the research even with president Bush threatening to veto it. http://www.physorg.com/news95535411.html Tons of moral issues involved
lmao kdot what a loser hahaha but in all seriousness, as a public speaker myself, you should use topics like global issues today... like... pollution... or child sex abuse... or things like that... but its useless if you dont know how to properly convey it... with emotions and all that.. or like fearless said.. thats a pretty good topic..
i can speak aiight in front of people. I'm looking for some good topics, also funny cuz i don't like it being so seriously and stuffs. Also only have about 7 mins to speak. So a narrow topic would be good.
pollution and global warming is a good one actually... you could speak specifically of how the rapid industrialization of China and India will result in a huge increase in CO2 production and the possible effects this will have on the rest of the world and what is being done now to rectify the situation
those are good.. just too broad, won't have enough time =/ narrow stuffs like... stick shift vs automatic, i might do that... who knows
I agree with euthanasia and abortion Racism may be too general a topic to talk about in 7 min though...
lol i guess your not looking for really serious topics then... aight here are some suggestions along those lines.. The Internet vs. Real life Video games vs. reality sweaters vs hoodies spoons vs. forks guns vs. knives
i suggest euthanasia too... you can use that topic basically everywhere... my frn used that same topic all through HS and into university too it works in alot of subjects... no need to do research again and same essay just edit it a bit for every new submission!!!
hpv vaccine...... or something like that its quite interesting n the arguments agianst it are kinda stupid.....it prevent some cancer in a girls...pu**y or somthing..? but the argument aginst it is it would promote unprotected sex....
which type of food make u fatter or has more calories, say the fries has more calories then the burger so eat the burgers chuck the fries. and u probably thought burgers were fattest. or how bout smoking marijuana vs cigs which is more dangerous in the long term? people who use marijuana at least once a week vs people who smoke cigs everyday? maybe drinking milk, does it really make u grow bigger/better or faster then kids who dont drink on a regular basis? just some ideas out there =)
It's crevical cancer, but it need to be done before the girl's sexually active since it's a vaccine against a sexually transmitted virus (which allegedly cause crevical cancer) That's a good idea, though I must agree that the whole "oh it will encourage early sexual activities" excuse sounds retarded.
How long does the speech have to be? American Idol's Sanjaya: horribly lucky? or just flat out horrible?
Listen Misenlai.. 7 minutes is the average for a student speech... you can talk about a general topic, because depending on the way you speak, it can be stretch to 7 minutes easily. and plus, if you are doing a serious topic, you got to account for pauses, that allow the audience to soak up what you said. that way, its much more efficient and effective. but if you want a humorous topic, you gotta keep going, without pauses, to keep the audience entertained. trust me when i say doing a serious topic is much easier than humor. of all my time doing public speaking in the provincial level in canada, i find that humor is a very hard style if you are not gifted with natural comedic talent.
^ yea.. agreed. Although I dun think Misenlai is interested in serious topics.. Gosh.. stick shift vs automatic?? lolz.. n I tot you were really looking for some kick ass topics in your first post...
