Tuesday January 01, 2008 Hong Kong As 2007 drew to a close and 2008 waited in the wings, Hong Kong real estate giant Sino Group welcomed a fifth co-operation with TVB to hold a special end of year celebration show at Olympian City yesterday evening to bring in the new year. The show began at around half past ten and the waiting crowd were entertained with performances from pop divas Priscilla Chan (陳慧嫻) and Shirley Kwan (關淑怡), TVB best actor Moses Chan (陳豪) and his rumoured girlfriend Bernice Liu (廖碧兒) and other musical performances from Kay Tse (謝安琪) and SunBoyz. Aimee Chan (陳茵媺) and Byron Pang (彭冠期) gave a display of swordplay before joining a cast of twenty TVB artistes in a presentation of a very special New Year's ball where the couples appeared in court costume to present their new year wishes. Tickets for the countdown show were given away to happy shoppers at the centre within a few hours and for those who did not get in, the show was also broadcasted to eight locations around the two centres, including the two largest HD LCD screens in Hong Kong, measuring a massive 103 inches. An estimated 36,000 people gathered at Olympian City yesterday to count in the new year, which was marked by a firework display just after midnight. credits: batgwa.
