Comedian, Actor, and Singer Ricky Hui began his showbiz career as an acting trainee with Shaw Brothers (Hong Kong) Ltd in the 70s, and participated in more than 40 movies. the goofy one of the three Hui brothers who dominated Hong Kong cinema in the 1970s and the 1980s. The comedian was an essential supporting character in various vampire-themed movies, including Front Page, The Haunted Cop Shop and Mr Vampire.

Ricky's day of death also coincided with the death anniversary of Lam Ching-ying, one of Hong Kong's famous actors who acted in many vampire-themed movies. He had played the role of Ricky's master in the movie Mr Vampire.

Apart from vampire-themed movies, Ricky released seven albums prior to his death and also starred in a series of movies with Michael, his elder brother, and Samuel, his younger brother such as Games Gamblers Play (1974) and The Private Eyes (1976).

Ricky was never as famous as his brothers and often played supporting roles, and although he had a great voice he was never a popular singer either. Despite all of that, Ricky Hui brought many funny and memorable moments and will always be remembered for the great movies he played in. Rest in Peace Ricky Hui.
